06.01.2022 A reminder of our duty of care. Also insight into the bigger issue of our collective misunderstanding of the term ‘natural’ which immediately and misguidedly creates feelings of trust and safety. This marketing tool ignores the facts about nature and the natural world.

05.01.2022 It’s very difficult to work with a generalized, abstract concept, such as panic disorder, generalized anxiety, or an avoidant attachment narrative. Alchem...ically speaking, there is no body to these concepts, they are not materialized, and we cannot touch them in any tactile sort of way, open them, dialogue with them, or enter into relationship with them. It is an intimacy with the manifestations of the soul that is essential to foster neural and imaginal integration. It is nearly impossible to open our hearts to a concept. We need touch. If we can begin to access and articulate our experience using images instead of concepts, we open a portal into psyche, into the soul and also to touch and embodiment. If we are feeling anxious, if we have enough safety and resource, to really just drop into that experience and to see what image might go with it, to ask psyche to show us, to open itself to us, so that we may enter relationship with it. What might appear is a young child, curled up in a ball on the floor near us, or a grieving old man on a park bench, or a figure from a film or novel, opening the caverns of metaphor, the most native language of the soul. Or a horse in the snow may appear and we follow her, she leads us to a stream, and there is a reflection in the water that beckons us. She has arrived within the psychic landscape to point the way to the silver, the gold, the yellow, and the Stone. These ones are all around us, spiraling into and out of our nighttime dreams and also our waking fantasies, and hidden in the natural world. They, too, long to come here and to offer their essence. The soul is always communicating with us, but in ways that are concrete and specific, unique images and sensations in the body and moods and emotions that are not generalized and abstract. There are hundreds of thousands of flavors, fragrances, and signatures to a moment of anxiety, or panic, or sadness, or shame.
