19.01.2022 Recreation Borumba Dam Closed Again 10:22 (44 minutes ago) to Dear Stakeholder... Lake Borumba is temporarily closed to all water-based recreation due to the detection of high levels of blue-green algae. Blue-green algae blooms generally occur in the warmer months due to increased water temperature, abundant nutrients and optimal light conditions. Recent weather conditions have resulted in favourable growing conditions and increased available nutrients facilitating rapid cyanobacterial growth. Seqwater is closely monitoring algae levels and will re-open the lake when water quality results indicate it is appropriate to do so. For more information, a fact sheet on blue-green algae is available on our website www.seqwater.com.au/about/publications/fact-sheets Lyn Brough Recreation Support Officer

13.01.2022 I have just done an interview with the Gympie Times promoting the proposed Bella Creek Multi Sport Park, some 17kms West of Imbil which is behind Borumba Dam. Apart from the Bikes & everything else etc etc section, for the Kayaking and Canoeists with direct access to the Kingham Creek arm this would provide an ideal and very safe entry level without any Jet Skies and Speed Boats to contend with, and the opportunity to fish a large section that is usually inaccessible due to ...the distance from the Boat Ramp but where one can also traverse the upper reaches of the Yabba Creek arm as well in peace and explore whole new areas for Bass, Togas, Perch etc etc. Apart from the Fishing this project will also inject much needed cash flow into the community and provide employment for Full Time, Part Time & Casual work. This project will be going again before GRC very soon for verification and lets hope it goes ahead. There is just so much much more data available, if you have any questions, just get back to me anytime. Regards Graeme Borumba Fishing n Outdoors See more

11.01.2022 I have just received my second shipment of a brand new range of lures being (Deadly Lures) and I am not aware of any other store that sells these lures anywhere in this region. I have a very nice range of Timber as well as Moulded stock and totally ideal for Freshwater as well as for the salt. I have just opened up a new web site and all shop stock or most of it will be displayed plus any stock on special.

07.01.2022 Borumba Dam Boat Ramp Clouser. Recreation 27 Jun (1 day ago) to Recreation ... Dear Stakeholder, The boat ramp at Lake Borumba will be temporarily closed from Monday 11 July 2016 to mid-August 2016 for upgrades. Feedback received during the recreation review supported an upgrade to the existing boat ramp at Lake Borumba, improving access to the lake. Construction will start after the school holidays finish on Monday 11 July 2016 and take about six weeks to complete, subject to weather conditions and other unexpected delays. It will involve removing the existing single lane ramp and constructing a new double lane boat ramp, with a queuing area to the left of the ramp. We understand the impact this temporary closure will have on recreation visitors and local businesses and we will work to reopen the boat ramp as soon as possible after the upgrade is complete. Signage will be in place along nearby roads in and around Imbil and at the lake to notify visitors about the upgrade and temporary closure. If you would like more information about this project, please contact the Seqwater Community Relations team at [email protected].
