17.01.2022 Have you been dreaming of a virtual farmers market? We’ve got one! COVID19 has had numerous unforeseen impacts on the producers and commercial foodies we wor...k with. Food festivals across the country have been cancelled and so have some of our farmers markets. Leaving farmers, value adders and food trucks missing out on core or all of their business. Restaurants and cafes have had to close unexpectedly, those remaining open have quickly had to adapt to making pick up or delivery options available. Producers who were supplying restaurants and cafes have had their market suddenly closed and are left with tons of produce with not knowing where to sell it. While others have been absolutely flat out trying to adapt to this new situation, with deliveries and trying to manage multiple orders, payments and pick up / drop off points, it all gets a bit messy! The good news is that people are still eating and there is a need for many of these services, it’s all just been a bit scrambled. Farmer Meets Foodie was in the middle of a revamp when COVID19 came on the scene and it’s put us in rapid peddle mode to bring our rerelease forward earlier and bring in features that we hadn’t planned to introduce for sometime! So we’ve adapted our platform to account for this new situation providing a place for: - Producers, farmers, harvesters, growers, value adders to sell direct - Cafes, restaurants, food trucks, caterers, butchers, green grocers to sell direct for pick up or delivery - Foodies to go virtual farmers market shopping in one place, while still getting to know the producer and the stories behind their food - Contactless payments and seamless notifications We are open for more stall holders to join the 230 who have already set up shop. Market day is everyday now, check out our stories for a snapshot of the 150+ food gems already to go.
