HOLSTEINS 46 Excellent 22 VG 89 ... 91 VG 88 JERSEYS We started off our jersey herd around 1999 with 5 jersey heifers and one bull . As of this week we have ... 21 Excellent 3 VG 89 7 VG 88 And 5 VG 88 MAX 2 year olds ... We hope it's not to long till the classifiers will be back to do the holsteins as we have some super 2 year olds calved in a few old girls that are looking awesome

25.01.2022 Over the moon with the results from this weeks Semex Onfarm Challenge with Boscawen Goldchip Conspire winning the Mature cow class and going on to win Champion cow .. with her Solomon daughter coming third in the 2 year old class ..

22.01.2022 What a story this young heifer has ... This is Boscawen Goldwyn Josie from Fairvale Igniter Josie EX 90 ... We purchased her as a $200 ivf egg . We had some much trouble registering her as her dam was never DNA tested . ... When she was born she had a ruptured navel which got very infected .. A Rushed trip to the Vet at 7 days old saved her life ... Months after she was with a group of calves and got a poke in the eye , it was so bad she nearly lost her eye . She was blind in that eye for months but in finally came good .. Come mating time , she was with a bull for months and would never stick , Turns out the bull was a dud ... So now she is ready to calve at 2.5 years old and smash it out of the park .. I'll get a rear udder pic when she calves in , she is a special one ... See more

And Boscawen Tbone Layla Winning the 3 year old section . The amazing thing about Layla is she has been milking 447 days and is due to go dry ... She is still doing 27 litres a day and passed 900kg of solids this lactation ...

A python heifer from the queen of the Guernsey breed Springhill Mentor Jazzy Ex 95 . The first Guernsey ever to classify 95 under the new holstein classifying system , and 2017 WDE Grand Champion . Look forward to meeting her sisters in the coming days

04.01.2022 THE END OF DGV’SMORE THAN THAT! December proofs are a little over a week away and with them they usher in the end of public DGV’s (Direct Genomic Values) on CD...N. The thing that truly made GLPI unique compared to other world indexes. Transparency, nothing hidden. Back in April at the Holstein Canada National Convention hundreds of Canadian breeders sat in the room and sent a crystal-clear message to CDN and LACTANET by voting overwhelmingly to keep DGV’s public for everyone to use. Fast forward a few months, CDN, now LACTANET, have both had opportunity to listen to the BREEDERS voice about how we want OUR data used. And yethere we are, a week away from it being removed from our use, while CDN increases the weighting on DGV’s in the proofs! Confusing? Wanting DGV's removed from our view but then increasing their importance in the proof (GPA)? I want to make one major point very clear; this issue has long since changed from being about the removal of DGV’s and turned to the use and control of OUR DATA and how it is used and controlled by other companies. WE, the producers/breeders pay for this data, when WE genomic test, when WE classify, when WE milk record, when WE install robots, when WE collect any type of data on our cows and our herds. WE PAY FOR IT! And yetby looking at this example, we clearly have NO VOICE or say in how it is used or if we can even have access to it! Moving forward access to OUR data will be extremely important. We need to ensure who controls itis it us the breeders? If you have used DGV data please SHARE out this post so the breeders around the world will know that DECEMBER 3RD, the DGV's are gone.

03.01.2022 It is with sadness that we relay the news of the passing of Geoff Herne. Geoff was a Holstein Master Breeder with the Boscawen Holsteins herd. He was a great ...supporter of the Holstein breed especially within our Sub Branch. In recent years you would see Geoff ringside around our local shows proudly supporting his family’s pursuit showing their cattle. He will be missed. Our thoughts & prayers go out to all of Geoff’s family. RIP. See more
