17.01.2022 Please note there has been an update with registering for weekend mass. The registrations for weekend masses will close the Friday prior at midnight. This will ensure parish staff/helpers have time to prepare the mass lists for weekend masses. On the day/night if you haven’t registered, you will be asked to wait aside whilst we determine if there is space available in that mass. If there is no space available, unfortunately, you will not be able to attend the mass. ... We dislike having to turn people away however we need to follow the regulations as they are there for everyone’s safety. Registrations can be made via the Parish Website or by phoning the Parish Centre. Thank you for your understanding and support during this pandemic.

Born in Naples,... he joined the Franciscan Friars Minor Conventual and after his ordination gave himself up entirely to a life of devotion to the Lord. The Holy Spirit began to work many amazing miracles through Saint Joseph and on more than seventy occasions people say they saw him rise from the ground while offering mass or praying. 14.01.2022 Today is the Feast of St Therese of the Child Jesus. Parishioners went on pilgrimage to the relics of St Therese at Varroville in 2002 and again earlier this year to St Aloysius Cronulla. A number of parishioners also went to Holy Family Menai. Mother Teresa took her name from St Therese. She often spoke about how St Therese didn't do anything great but she did little things with great love. Feel free to comment with sayings, comments or reflections in the comments sections.

13.01.2022 Thoughtful Thursday In this Sunday’s gospel, Jesus tells a story of a man with two sons. He asks them both to go and work in his vineyard that day. The first re...plies no, but then changes his mind and goes. The second says yes, but doesn’t go in the end. Jesus asks the people, which of the two did his father’s will? I grew up in a Catholic family where I was made to go to mass each Sunday and say my prayers. When I went to High School, I was embarrassed by this part of me and pushed Jesus away because it wasn’t cool to go to Church. In Year 10, I went to World Youth Day 2008 and I was forever changed by what I encountered that week. That was the first time that I made a decision to follow Jesus and say yes to Him. Since then, my yes to Jesus has evolved as I have grown in my faith, but it always requires me to have an openness to Him. I have been that first son in the story. Every now and then, I am that first son again. When I get confused and lose my way, I sometimes say no to Him. And when I realise how foolish I was, change my mind and sheepishly turn back to Him, God does something beautiful. He takes me back into his vineyard, again and again. God knows exactly who we are. He isn’t fazed by our fickle nature, he does not worry about us making mistakes. Instead, He invites us into His own vineyard, He waits and He rejoices when our no turns into a yes. #salesian #donbosco #faith #invitation #jesus #love

12.01.2022 In the Archdiocese of Sydney, we have a special affection for Our Lady Help of Christians, who is not only the patron saint of our country, but also our cathedr...al and the college which stands beside it. In colonial Sydney, pioneer priest Fr John Therry dedicated the first Catholic Church to Our Lady Help of Christians to help guide the Church at a time when Mass was rarely permitted over the previous three decades and colonial Catholics found great comfort in the Rosary to help nurture their faith. We indeed turn again to Our Lady for her intercession today as our nation struggles with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. 12.01.2022 Alongside many other churches around the world, St Mary's Cathedral was lit in red last night to mark Red Wednesday following a Mass celebrated by Dean Fr Don R...ichardson. This annual initiative of the charity, Aid to the Church In Need (ACN) on 25 November, helps raise awareness about the persecution of Christians around the world. ACN has this year focused its attention on the plight of Christians who are kidnapped or unjustly imprisoned because of their faith. As our cathedral is bathed in the blood of martyrs, we stand with the oppressed, acknowledging that we can often take freedom to practice our faith in safety too much for granted in Australia- a freedom denied to many of our fellow Christians around the world.

In these times, when we are challenged in our faith and our ability to worship together due to COVID19, may this special feast remind us that Jesus Christ is indeed Our King who reigns forever. 10.01.2022 THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY- matthew20:1-16 This Sunday's gospel parable has so many messages within it. Jesus tells a parable about a landowner that went out and hired... some people to work in his vineyard. One thing that really stood out to me in this parable is the multiple opportunities that the landowner gave to the people to work in the vineyard. He went out at the daybreak, then the third hour, then the 6th then the 9th and then the 11th. When I reflect on my own faith life journey, I can't help but see a parallel between it and the parable. No matter how many times I seem to stuff up or turn away from him, Jesus continually provides and gives opportunities to be with him. Even in the 11th hour when we may have given up on ourselves, Jesus will still come out and offer an invitation. It doesn't matter about what you have done or what you have yet to do, Jesus values and cares about the person you are now #thoughtfulthursday #opportunities #faith #salesian #donbosco #youth #Jesus #matthew20:1-16
