25.01.2022 If you feel like something’s not quite the same with someone you know there’s something going on in their life or you notice a change in what they’re saying or doing - trust that gut instinct and take the time to ask them Are you OK? If someone says they’re not OK, make time to listen, encourage action and check in. That conversation could change, or even save, their life. 1. Ask 2. Listen 3. Encourage action... 4. Check in Visit ruok.org.au for more guides and details on how you can offer support or get support. @ruokday . . . #ruokday

23.01.2022 Meet Hayden White from Warilla in NSW now living in Currumbin QLD. Hayden has been part of the BOS team from the beginning and we are proud to have him on board. Not only for his personal achievements in his sport and career but also for his focus and drive to push his limits and set goals to focus on especially during these uncertain times. This man knows motivation and won't hold back. Read what he has to say. . I love the ocean and everything that comes with it. I grew up ...on the beach at Warilla and miss that place and the people everyday. The challenge motivates me, If I can find something I can’t do or somebody challenges me saying I can’t do something a little switch inside me flicks and I obsessively try and do it. Over the past few seasons I have been trying to find little things to continually challenge myself. At the moment my goal is to medaled in the board ski and iron at separate Aussies, I don’t think anyone has achieved this in a while so that’s definitely a personal goal. I’ve got a board title and 2nd in the ski ski so far. Other than ironman and surf lifesaving I work full time as a structural / civil engineer. Working on hospitals, schools, bridges and houses. It’s good and I enjoy having something completely different than sport to challenge myself in other ways. Although sometimes I wonder why I do it to myself. . Thanks for sharing some of your story with us Hayden, we are proud to have you as part of the team and to call you a good friend. 22.01.2022 Meet Max Brooks, a UTS 2019 graduate with a Bachelor of Business. Over the past four years while studying Max worked as an Uber driver, he now works full time in Technology Sales. Max is a keen sportsman in surf lifesaving, horse riding, golf and skiing but also makes time for reading. What you may not know is that Max here is the kind of guy that once he sees a challenge he will not give up until he masters it to the best of his ability. For a 25 year old he has some impress...ive achievements to his name already. Max has 3 x Aussie Ironman wins (2 x junior, 1 x Opens) under his belt and 2 x Aussies Open Taplin wins. He's also very proud of his grass roots, being a part of his surf club Newport SLSC since he was 5yrs old and helping it grow from a small community club that was 51st in the country to 2nd. What makes him tick? We don't have the answers to that but we do know he can solve three different kinds of Rubik's cubes - 3x3, Megaminx, Mirror Cube. He's extremely curious and hates not being good at things and loves weird facts. Max has been a supporter of BOS for many years. We have watched his determination and skills in the sport develop over the years and we are proud of all he has achieved. Watch this space, we know there is more to come. 11.01.2022 Meet Hayden ‘Tezza’ Allum with a Bachelor of Education in primary education behind him, he is now an Assistant Principal at a local school in the Sutherland Shire. With a keen interest in watching most sports, you most likely find him surfing or playing a round of golf fueled by a lot of coffee. Hayden has been part of Team BOS since 2009, with multiple achievements to his name such as Nutri Grain Ironman, Australian/NSW Representative and NSW ironman champion 2012. His favo...urite results have been achieving 3 x Australian Board Rescue titles (with his brother Chris and Nathan Smith 'Smitdog') and all the mates he has made along the way. His motivation is being fit but having a good time doing it, it gives him a new perspective on racing. Something you may not know about Hayden, he is deaf in his right ear. His dad named him Hayden because he paddled Hayden gear when he won his Australian ironman title. He got the nickname Tez/Tezza after a famous footballer from Wests/Manly due to having a lisp when he was younger. - We consider Hayden to be an athlete with the X-factor on any given day and in any conditions. He is the type of athlete that can take down the best in the world. Always one to watch to pull out a result expected or unexpected. We're proud to have you on board. 09.01.2022 Meet Millie Wiggins, one of our rising stars from the UK, her credentials speak for themself. Millie has represented Great Britain five times, was Vice Captain of the youth team twice and has represented Wales in the Wales Vs England competitions four times. Last season wasn’t a great one for her after breaking her hand in flags in the Oceanperf competition after being selected for the Welsh and Great British teams at the beginning of the season. Still with an injured hand s...he managed to get a third in the ski and second in the beach sprints. Not using her injury as an excuse Mille still set high expectations for herself and was disappointed in not achieving similar results from the previous year in ski having won the ski at the Euros 2018. In 2018 she raced in the Euros and Worlds, coming 1st in ski, 2nd in flags and 3rd in sprints in the Euros and a 4th in the sprints in Worlds and a ski finalist. Mille has been racing since the age of six and she absolutely loves the sport. She made the decision to come to Australia for a Winter to train on the Gold Coast of Queensland. This experience has truly enhanced her skills in the sport, gaining a lot of surf skills that she would not be exposed to in the UK. - Millie we love your no excuses outlook, your drive and ambition to fulfil your full potential in this sport. Although we might think you're being a little tough on yourself after your injury we admire your drive and setting such a high bar for yourself. We are proud to have you as one of the BOS Team. We're looking forward to seeing what comes next for you. We're right behind you. 09.01.2022 Meet Paul Lemmon from Terrigal SLSC. He is a primary school teacher who has worked in various roles in schools on the Central Coast of NSW for the last 30 years. He joined Avoca SLSC Nippers as an 8 year old in 1975 and started paddling a ski when he was 18 because he wanted to participate in Ironman events. After he completed uni in 1991 and started competing again, he did the trial for the Uncle Toby’s Ironman Series and made it in for the 1992/93 season. His interests i...nclude being outdoors, travel, concerts, all kinds of music, musical theatre, dancing, dad jokes and watching Australian Sports Teams compete at an international level. Paul has been a part of Team BOS since its beginning. He finds BOS Skis to be very comfortable, reliable and fast in a range of conditions- a good ‘all round’ ski. Since joining the team he has won multiple Masters World, Australian and NSW Championships in a variety of individual and team events in the ocean & pool as well as the Coolangatta Gold in his age category. Some of his other accomplishments include a National Patrol Service Award, Australian Sports Medal for services to Surf Life Saving(2000), Surf Life Saving Central Coast Life Member (2015), Surf Life Saving Australia Hall of Fame Masters Legend (2019), 11 times Surf Life Saving NSW Masters Athlete of the Year & 4 times NSW Sports Awards Masters Athlete of the Year. He has coached and mentored nippers, juniors, seniors as well as masters, including beginners, patrol members, Nutri Grain Series athletes, NSW & Australian Champions over many years. The things that have driven him to be involved in Surf Sports over so many years have included his passion for being in and around the ocean, motivating others to still enjoy participating and being involved (even when they’re well past their physical peak), hanging out with like minded friends and challenging himself in a variety of events/ conditions against the elements of the ocean, whether he wins, draws or comes last. Paul is a very valued and respected member of Team BOS. Thanks for your continued support. IT’S NOT BUSINESS, IT’S PERSONAL! . . . #teambos #itsnotbusinessitspersonal #bos #bosoceansport Paul Lemmon

07.01.2022 REMEMBRANCE DAY 1min - 11am - 11 Nov Charles Bean landed with the Australian troops on Gallipoli on April 25, 1915. He stayed with them at the front through the entire war, refusing evacuation when he was wounded. At Pozieres the following year he was witness to 23,000 Australian casualties in just six weeks. A dying Australian asked him, Will they remember me in Australia?".... We at BOS will be observing one minute's silence at 11am today the 11th of November for Remembrance Day. By observing one minute's silence we pay tribute to the men and women who have served and are still serving in our defence forces and remember those who have died or suffered in conflicts, wars and peacekeeping operations. #WeRememberThem

06.01.2022 Meet Lana Rogers, a surf Iron Woman from Noosa, QLD. Her mornings usually begin with a 5am wake up call from her alarm clock and her first words of the day are Hey Google, stop. She is usually heading to the pool or the beach with a coffee in hand to start her first session of the day. This crazy journey of hers started when she was just a little nipper who had big dreams of becoming an Ironwoman. 18 years later and she can now call herself the current Coolangatta Gold and... Nutri Grain champion. Being lucky enough to tick off 3 major titles during her career including the Australian championship, Lana is now more determined than ever to become the best Ironwoman she can be. She is excited for what the ocean has in store for her for the years to come. - Lana's results are far from luck, she is one of the most driven and focused athletes out there and her results are a direct result of her hard work and talent. 05.01.2022 At BOS Oceansport we pay our respects to the elders, people and ancestors of this country Ku-ring-gai that we operate our business on. NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to sup...port your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. NAIDOC originally stood for ‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee’. 04.01.2022 Meet Jackson Borg from Newport in NSW, who also competes for Newport Surf Life Saving Club. Jackson is currently completing a Bachelor of Biotechnology at UTS. Kobe Bryant and Derrick Rose are two famous people that he draws inspiration from but also Max Brooks and his Dad are the people who have shown him that by working hard and doing the right things you can get what you work for. So what makes Jackson tick? He doesn't like to do anything halfway, if he starts something, h...e will commit and give it all his focus to see it through to the best of his ability. Some of Jackson's key achievements in life are having represented Australia three times, getting into his degree and being a role model for the younger kids that he trains and works with. Jackson cares most about his close friends and family and most animals he comes across. You will find Jackson hanging out on the beach with friends when he is not training, playing with his dog, playing video games or mucking around with a guitar if he can find the time. A self proclaimed fan of watching stupid comedies, the dumber the joke the more likely he's the one laughing the loudest. What you may not know about Jackson, he works 2-3 days a week as a student learning support officer at a high school and for some reason he is always the last person to pack his gear away after training. - Jackson has been a part of the BOS team for over seven years. His results speak for themselves and his work ethic sees him as a lead condenter when racing. He's an all round stand up guy and we are proud to have him on the team. 02.01.2022 Meet Shun Nishiyama a surf ironman from Japan. He is 4National Ironman and 2National single ski champion. Shun started surf sport at 19 when he was a uni student. The first time he represented his country of Japan in surf lifesaving was at the age of 20. Since then he has been in the national team for over 10 years. Shun was a fire fighter until the age of 26 and is now a sponsored professional athlete.... "The first time I met BOS (Reece) was 2015 when I paid BOS factory a surprise visit. I said 'I want to be the first BOS Japanese paddler and introduce BOS surf skis' to Japanese lifesavers'. Reece accepted me and gave me a ski (pink/white one), since then we have continued a great relationship as a paddler, business associate and friend for over 5 years." Shun's passion is a 'challenge'. He has come to Australia to train and compete at Aussies for almost every year he has been competing in the sport. Shun had no experience of surf sport when he was young but, that’s what drives him and gives him his 'challenge'. To him age is not important, he continues to improve and with each year his passion and enjoyment of the sport continually grows. In the words of Shun, "I truly enjoy what I do. Finally, I hope the world settles down and returns to normal (paddle) life early for all the people". - Shun has proven himself to be a leading Ironman and surf sports competitor and excellent waterman. From the moment he walked through our doors we instantly struck up a solid friendship. He is a valued and well respected BOS team member and a very special friend.
