11.01.2022 We are off to pack down the "Spiral of Life" sculpture today and it's hard to put into words how moving the whole experience has been. I never imagined for it t...o be so big & move so many people. I'm beyond honoured to have had the opportunity to connect with @dkprinzing my floral hero whom is founder of @myslowflowers movement in the states. Our project has just been featured in this beautiful write up on the my slow flowers journal. https://slowflowersjournal.com/ In a time where we are all more separated than ever I have never felt so connected. The tree of life at the heart of the spiral feels like one small drop in the ocean but the ripple effects are continuing to expand out in the world.....they just hit the shores of America and I know the ripples continue. For me personally Im feeling this experience has just opened a virtual doorway and I'm stepping through. P.S. if you don't like snakes look away! No animals were harmed in the making of this shoot. A full menagerie it included a taxidermy baby deer aka Bambi whom was a still born and a Jackalope whom are really just creatures from folklore & fairytales. 05.01.2022 This ceremony and love story moved me like none other. This is a traditional maori cloak 'kakahu' woven with weathers by Tane's grandmother. Around his neck is necklace his grandfather carved from whale bone and abalone shell. Due to Covid and border closures the family decided to break tradition and allow the kakahu to travel by air courier to their wedding. Tane also seeked permission to cloak his wife Roisin during the ceremony which is a not a tradition. Witnessing this... for me was the most poignant part of the entire wedding. The way he lovingly wrapped the cloak around his queens shoulders and gave her a beautiful warm embrace at the same time made me literally choke up. For me there was so much in this act. A husband offering his protection. A strong queen softening into his love. Having known Roisin since I was a little girl and meeting Tane around a decade ago we felt so honoured to be part of their special day. Im not sure if its also because Tane became a 'Lord' this day ( his best man legit arranged this ~ quite the wedding gift ey) but I felt like we witnessed our strong friend Tane turn from a loving man into a warrior of love on his wedding day which funnily enough was also his birthday. 04.01.2022 Right at the time of this photo on this day ten years ago I had my first kiss in a mosh pit with this hunk of spunk. Its been a roller-coaster of awesomeness since then. From day one we were inseparable and ten years on we are even more in love with just a few more grey hairs! I pinch myself EVERYDAY that I get to do life with you babe ~ You raise me up & calm me down all at the same time. I can't believe how much we have grown and what we have achieved together. I can only imagine what incredible adventures we will have in the next decade! Lucky your buckled up right there coz Sky's the Limit baby
