22.01.2022 After a couple of phone calls over the last few days, we'll just leave this here.

19.01.2022 If you have been trying to call us in the last few days, we have had no phone since Thursday evening. We finally got internet back on Monday afternoon, but still unable to receive phone calls. Telstra were to attend this morning between 8am - midday, but no one has come as yet, probably due to the weather. So if you are trying to contact us, apologies, it is out of our hands. Very trying time with one week till Christmas and no phone line.

19.01.2022 August 7, 1995 Rick commenced his business. Celebrating 24 years of Bostock’s Appliance Repairs today and congratulations to Rick on this milestone. Many thanks to all our customers, many who have dealt with Rick from day 1.

18.01.2022 Rick has been racing and a member of the Lismore Kart Club for 40 or so years. We are proud sponsors of the track.

We are happy to be in thi...s together with you - please lets work together. Remember all of the rules regarding self distancing, self isolation etc. Do not book us in for at least 2 weeks after you or anyone in your home, have returned from overseas, been in contact with anyone who have been overseas, been in contact with anyone who has tested positive to COVID-19, or have any cold or flu symptoms. Stay safe and let's support each other and work through this together. See more

15.01.2022 Well what a year it's been! Many thanks to all who have supported and stuck by us this year, what a trying year it has been for everyone. I'm not going to say bring on 2021 cos we said similar last year and look what happened! All I will say is Merry Christmas to you all and see you in 2021. We are finishing the end of this hectic year with some drama, thanks to Telstra disconnecting our landline phone, we had no phone, internet, EFTPOS etc for 6 working days, but managing at... present with phone finally diverted to our work mobile. We close tomorrow Wednesday 23 at 4.30pm and are so looking forward to our annual break, as no holidays at all this year. We will be back, refreshed and ready and raring to go on Wednesday January 27 (that is if we don't win Lotto between now and then :) ) Once again, thank you for your support, enjoy the festive season, hopefully you get to spend it with the special ones in your life, cherish every moment and see you in 2021 See more

11.01.2022 We are all in this together. Stay safe everyone. STAY-AT-HOME ORDER FOR NORTH-COAST FROM 6PM... To protect the people of NSW from the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, the State Government has introduced new restrictions for Lismore Local Government Area, the Byron Shire, and Richmond Valley and Ballina Shire Local Government Areas, effective from 6pm today until 12.01am Tuesday 17 August. Following updated health advice from NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant, stay-at-home orders will apply to all people who live in these areas or have been there on or after 31 July. The rules for these areas will be the same as those already in place across Greater Sydney, as well as Tamworth, Armidale, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, Singleton, Dungog, Muswellbrook and Cessnock. Everyone in these areas must stay at home unless they have a reasonable excuse to leave. They also cannot have visitors in their home from outside their household, including family and friends. People still can have one visitor at one time to fulfil carers' responsibilities or provide care or assistance, or for compassionate reasons, including where two people are in a relationship but do not live together. People also cannot enter the Lismore Local Government Area, Byron Shire, or Richmond Valley and Ballina Shire Local Government Areas, without a reasonable excuse to do so. We understand this is a difficult time for the community and appreciate their ongoing patience and cooperation. We are asking people not to seek exceptions to the rules, but to ensure they comply with them so we do not see further cases of COVID-19 in the community.

09.01.2022 Just a reminder to what can happen if you leave appliances on while not at home or in bed.

08.01.2022 Just a little reminder its that time again - i tend to do this every 6 months or so and its been that long since i last posted it! Don't neglect cleaning your washing machine, its simple 2 tablespoons of bi-carb soda (in the washing powder drawer) and half a cup of white vinegar (inside the drum) - put your washing machine on a hot wash. This will get rid of all that soap build up! EASY - share this so you don't forget!!

05.01.2022 Monday August 10, 1995 - Monday August 10, 2020. Huge congratulations to Rick on starting his business 25 years to the day, today. It’s a huge achievement in this day & age for the person who started the business, put their name to the business, to still be the owner of the business. Rick treats each customer as he would like to be treated himself and takes great pride in his work. Can’t say we’ll be here in another 25 years though ... Many thanks for the messages and continued support of a locally owned & run business. See more

03.01.2022 Jason Mamoa, aka Aquaman, is very handy around the house, I’m sure many ladies would agree Maybe this is the way to get the men to do a little more housework

01.01.2022 The rain just has not stopped for most of us in the last few days and it doesn't look like it's letting up anytime soon. With laundry an unavoidable household chore, even when the weather is like this, appliances like the tumble dryer get a serious workout. But there are ways to make your dryer work smarter to speed up the drying process, which is great if you're desperate for a work shirt or school uniforms on short notice. When using the dryer, here are three tips that wil...l help speed up the drying time, saving you time and money in the long run. And there are alternative options for getting your clothes dry without a dryer, since drying wet clothes inside can lead to a big problem. Go for another spin - The less water there is in an item of clothing, the faster it will dry. So, instead of dumping things straight out of the washing machine and into the dryer, leave it in the washer and put a spin cycle on. A spin cycle will take around 15 minutes or less, but it will help get a lot more water out of the clothes in the machine. When you do put the load of washing into the dryer, you're already giving it a head start on drying thanks to the second spin. Even if you don't have a dryer or want to use one for every load, this is a trick I swear by when it comes to drying clothes in autumn and winter. I personally find the clothes dry a lot quicker, which is great if you're trying to juggle fitting a whole load on an airer. Throw in the towel - It might seem silly, but a dry bath towel can be your best friend if you need things dried in a hurry. A dry towel will act as a moisture separator and help speed things up because it will absorb some of the moisture off the clothing. If you're only drying a couple of things, take the towel out of the dryer after around five minutes. If it's a full load, leave the towel in there for around 15 minutes. Make sure you don't overload the machine with the amount you're washing and the towel, too. The towel should only feel a bit damp when you pull it out, and you can just hang it up to air dry. Focus on what you need first - Instead of throwing a whole load of washing into the dryer, break it up into two piles first. Split your wet washing between what needs to be dry now and what can wait. You'll give your dryer a smaller load to work with, meaning more room for hot air to circulate and a quicker drying time. Pick the hottest setting, being mindful of the care labels on your clothing first, and throw your small load in. It should take round 15 to 20 minutes for a small load to dry at this temperature. You can either put the rest on an airer to dry slowly, or put it in the dryer for another cycle. See more
