25.01.2022 One of our goals this year was to establish a culture based on School Wide Positive Behaviour Support expectations. A key piece of that work is acknowledging children for giving effort, making positive choices and showing growth. The House Challenge was designed to help children realise their effort is not unnoticed. As a new school with very little time working together we have so much growth to do. This also helps us focus on what children ARE achieving as opposed to focusing too much on what they haven’t done or can’t do. #growthmindset #swpbs #yearone

24.01.2022 A nice story to end the day We hope you had a great day

24.01.2022 As we finish the term we have the following learning tasks now available to view in Compass: Foundation - Reading Foundation - Writing Years 1-6 - Writing... Please be sure to check out that task and teacher feedback

23.01.2022 Today’s DIGITAL DILIGENCE message was wonderfully created by Olivia! We want children to be really careful with what they do online. Children need to be explicitly taught how to navigate the internet. What is common sense to us could be a costly mistake to them. Children’s internet use needs to be directed by good choices and not sidetracked by what is randomly presented to them online. #hourofpower #digitaldiligence @cybersafetyproject

22.01.2022 Today we celebrate 100 days of learning for our Foundation children! Here are a couple of 100 year old friends sending their congratulations to you all

22.01.2022 We hope you had a SWEET day! Last day of term tomorrow. It will be nice to put this in the history books and hopefully move onto better times

21.01.2022 We look forward to seeing the BRPS community dressed up in their house colours as we continue our week of Learning Quest and the House Challenge. This goes for the on-site learners as well :)

21.01.2022 Our Foundation class became engineers today in STEM as they tested the Three Little Pigs house of straw! #chaotic #fun #handsonlearning

20.01.2022 This simple message is one we must remember on a daily basis. Whilst it seems so simple, the question R U Ok? can open up a communication line that quite literally saves lives. It feels a little unnatural the first few times but the more you use this phrase the more people feel cared for. Have a go asking your child today. Sit, listen, give them time, see where the convo goes. ... As always if you are struggling with the challenges of lockdown, remote learning, parenting, or just don’t feel right, we are here. Please reach out and never feel ashamed of being honest and saying actually I’m not doing ok

20.01.2022 We are aware some children at BRPS use TikTok. This is a very important article for you to read if you believe your child may access the app. As a school we preach DIGITAL DILIGENCE, which in this case means being really careful about what we expose ourselves to in the online world.

19.01.2022 Live action shot of some of our children using our newly installed air con To our community, thank you for your understanding over the last few weeks as we have had lots of parking spaces taken up whilst this has been installed. The teachers and children must also be complimented on their flexibility as we have had to ask them to move spaces during key stages of the work. We are nearing completion of the project #woohoo #justchillin

18.01.2022 A new Learning Task has been available for all children in Years 1-6. Jump over to Compass to take a look at the teacher feedback and Essential Assessment summary chart. Whilst we are here, happy Friday to all, let’s close out the week with a good one

18.01.2022 Happy Birthday Mr Cuss!

16.01.2022 To all of the parents dropping off their children for Foundation transition, we are sure it’s a little nerve wracking leaving your children with complete strangers. Thank you for trusting us with your young ones, hopefully you can all come in and see our school for yourselves soon!

15.01.2022 Dads, No matter how you see your role in the family, no matter your skills, no matter your failures, you will always be Dad. We appreciate all you do. Happy Father's Day from the children and team at Botanic Ridge. Here's a little video just for YOU!... P.S Special shout out to the carers and single mothers who fill in for this role. We salute you.

15.01.2022 The dance vids are #housechallenge #dancingdads #movingmums #superstarsiblings #randomdancingdogs

14.01.2022 Work hard, play hard!

14.01.2022 Getting closer!

14.01.2022 Looking for something to do with the children during the school holidays, check out the Victoria Together website and their Face book page for ideas on how to connect with our favourite places virtually. https://www.together.vic.gov.au/ https://www.facebook.com/VictoriaTogether/

13.01.2022 If you are joining our community in 2021 or you are considering our school as an option, this video was created for you. Mr Cuss is joined by three of our current parents to help paint a picture of what we do and who we are. As soon as school tours are allowed we look forward to meeting many more families. A big thank you to Bella, Michael and Divyesh for giving up their time

13.01.2022 Today, we are THANKFUL to our community. Over the past couple of weeks we have received some very generous donations of hand sanitizer, books, icey poles and financial contributions via the voluntary parent payment. Whilst none of this was necessary, it is really appreciated. Running a school is a huge responsibility and we are grateful when our community take an active role in being part of that responsibility. Moving into 2021 we will be looking to offer other ways you can support the children and our school. We will let you know in the new year but we just wanted to express our gratitude. Happy Friday everyone, go forth and conquer! #connection #community #zooperdoooooooopers

12.01.2022 14/14, what a superstar! P.S Cats over dogs any day

12.01.2022 Today is Principal Takeover Day! This year has placed our teaching staff in a very unique and challenging space. Teaching is a job that is built on human connection, yet our teachers are being asked to complete this job with incredibly challenging barriers in the way and little to no access to spend time with your children. As a Principal Team we wanted to acknowledge the toll this work is taking on our staff and provide them with a day of rest. As we approach RUOK? Day this ...week it remains vitally important that we continue to proactively ask ourselves the question, what can we do to support our staff? A big sleep in or a day of watching Netflix won’t remove the daunting task of remote learning, whilst living through a pandemic for our staff, but we hope it will act as a show of support. If you have any questions today please either send them through to us or hold off from asking your home group teacher until tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding, Lisa and Tobin.

11.01.2022 Today our Foundation children and Year 3/4 children are exploring the Dreamtime story ‘How the birds got their colours.’ Poor old Crow really missed a big opportunity! Parents of all BRPS children, if you haven’t heard of this story before we encourage you to check it out too There is a video on the Foundation Learning Web with Ms Simons reading the story.

10.01.2022 We hope you’ve all had a bit of FUN this week as we close the door on Week 9. The creativity, enthusiasm, family fun and school spirit has been brilliant. Thank you for your contributions and we trust your child experienced some JOY this week. Over to the girls for the big announcement!

08.01.2022 For those interested in Little Aths there is a come and try registration day tomorrow at Casey Fields.

07.01.2022 We hope you are all enjoying a change of pace by giving our House Challenge activities a go. Thank you to all of parents and carers for being so involved. Here’s a quick look at the Power Up tally for the week so far! So much fun, so much creativity, so much joy on the children’s faces, so much weeds in your gardens and so much Power Up inflation that the market will surely crash upon our return Keep at it team

06.01.2022 The Premier has just made a very important announcement.....

06.01.2022 Can you believe we have 18 school days left?! Just as a reminder from the ‘Key dates for T4’ post from Compass we will have an end of year celebration for the children on Wednesday 16 December. What does this look like? To be COMPLETELY honest we are not 100% sure yet. We are waiting with our fingers crossed to hear from the Department of Education to see if we can host a little concert outdoors with you all in attendance. Our children are getting some small performances read...y. If not, we will have a fun day with the kids and be sure to share some footage from the day. The children will be invited to dress in Christmas colours Schools generally work in a very structured, planned way that leaves little wiggle room for surprises. 2020 is helping us all learn that flexibility and adaptability to our plans can be managed with the right mindset... but for those counting there is just over a month until we can erase 2020 out of our minds

05.01.2022 Exciting news! In line with Department changes we can now relax our before and after school procedures. Children will be able to enter from any gate. I know a few parents will be happy their morning drop off walk can be a little shorter now We have been able to see tremendous growth and independence from the children entering the school on their own in the morning. This speeds up the morning process and enables the children to be settled quickly and get stuck into their lea...rning. So this is something we are sticking with. But for the afternoon pick ups we invite the community to enter the school grounds. Only the staff and students will be able to enter the buildings, so the children will come out to greet you. Such a small change but we hope it can make life a little easier and continue to build a community atmosphere within our school. #welcomeback cheers to @polkadotash for the typo!

05.01.2022 As a school we teach children about the importance of creating Respectful Relationships through the Hour of Power program. Men’s violence against women is a serious issue in this world, but the drivers of violence against women can be addressed through primary prevention strategies. By working through important concepts like respect, tolerance, consent, and help seeking, we hope to educate children in a way that will prepare them for life as an adult. #endthecycle #whiteribbonday

05.01.2022 Just a quick heads up: Information regarding our small Christmas celebration will be coming home tonight.

05.01.2022 Here are some of our Parent Opinion Survey results. We thank the community who were involved in providing us with this positive feedback and we will work hard where the data shows you are not seeing our efforts yet. Full survey results have been sent to all BRPS families via Compass

04.01.2022 It’s funny how we have learnt to appreciate all of the small things in life. We are looking forward to seeing you all onsite this afternoon!

04.01.2022 Our final batch of awards for Term 3 includes a lot of children, a double dipper (well done to this amazing child!), some helpful parents, some of our brilliant staff and one superhero. Better check it out!
