25.01.2022 The boys on obsession doing another great job at looking at the info and turning it into a great fish. Calls on the take was a big albacore and Dane was told by Adam to grab the rod. Well that albacore grew about 40kg and turned into a yellow fin tuna of 51.7kg on 24kg! After a tussle that initially was putting dane through the ringer ( get the belt quicker next time) the fish came up and was boated quickly. Couldnt find any more to take the lures and a with that started the 40mile run home. Sunday we decided to do the run to ulladulla for a blue fin session. Lets just say blue fin 1 obsession 0. We just couldnt find the water we needed. Big shout out to Reece Cokum on grabbing some beautiful fish on FV rogue.

18.01.2022 Its with great happiness that I can officially report that after 20months without a valid registration. Vessel HS206N better known as warthog is finally legal to hit the waters again!!! I would just like to thank port hacking maritime for the friendly reminder that you do need to register your boat, who knew??? Now to clean the trees that are growing out of the bungs and hook up the battery charger, corona got me needing some social distancing!

17.01.2022 Its with great sadness that I must inform members of the passing last night of Clayton Brown. Clayton was one of the Clubs real characters with his participation as a fellow member and was always very helpful with his commitments when he was on the Committee. Funeral details are:... Friday, 17 May @ 1.00pm at Woronora South Chapel and having the wake at the Celeste Cottage on Woronora grounds afterwards. Clayton will be dearly missed, sleep well old friend. Rest in Peace

15.01.2022 Got some interesting news on the bluefin whereabouts on the south coast.. Fish are being caught as far north as Jervis Bay. Some colder water out a bit further ...than 100miles. Too far for rec boats but the water is slowly moving west. So at least the fish are off the south coast at last, just a matter of waiting for them to push a bit closer to shore. Wont be long!! 11.01.2022 If anyone fishes in a NSW Fisheries marine park, check out a free app called Avenza Maps. You can then import maps (for free) of the marine parks and track where you are in them as it uses your devices GPS. Can be quite helpful if you are unfamiliar of the zones and the restrictions that apply.

05.01.2022 Sydney Sportfishing Tournament Postponed NEW DATE - 20, 21, 22nd November 2020 Unfortunately the advice we are getting from NSW Health means that the hosting ...of the 27th Sydney Sportfishing Tournament that was scheduled for the 27, 28 and 29 of March will have to be postponed. A new date has been locked in already for November so sit tight, stay safe, look after the vulnerable people in your family and fishing community and see you all in November bigger and better. We want to thank the sponsors and supporters who have decided to hang in there and ride this out with the rest of us. Please also keep in mind that our great sponsors will need our help in the coming months so if you get a chance, drop in and see how they are going and if you need any of their services make sure they are your first port of call. Cheers Stan Konstantaras on behalf of the St George Sportfishing Club and South Sydney AFA 17th March 2020. See more
