25.01.2022 A science experiment on germs/ the importance of hand washing If the pepper stuck to the children’s hands they didn’t wash them properly and were encouraged to re-wash them and see what happened and what the differences were. Our findings... germs don’t like clean hands! We gave the children just enough information to keep them informed about how they can protect themselves from germs.

24.01.2022 We picked some carrots from the garden earlier this morning which have been growing since late last year. A mix of sizes some are just a little ‘taster’ but enough for everyone to have a taste

23.01.2022 This is a photo of a beautiful Jacaranda tree in Centennial park. We had it enlarged and have displayed it in the book area. It provides the plain canvas for our family tree this year. If you would like to, please bring in a family photo that we can add to our tree. The children love looking at the photos of their families during the day, it is a point of lots of discussion and sharing between everyone

19.01.2022 Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Some good tips to remember and stay safe during the current weather.

18.01.2022 It’s been a morning of collaborative play which has been great to see. The children using their problem solving, language, creativity and motor skills to design and create a castle out of recycled boxes and a intricate train track. The children made the most of the possibilities that are available to extend their interests and social skills through open ended materials and flexible environments. Thank you to everyone who brought in the boxes, they bring hours of joy at preschool

17.01.2022 We are currently collecting bottle lids and tins, if you would like to collect for us we would appreciate it as we need lots! (We are planing on making hanging mobiles for the undercover area outside). As usual the children are always using recycled materials in the art area that they creatively construct into all kinds of cool things and excitedly take home. Happy recycling

15.01.2022 It’s been a busy and fun week... Our camping area has been a hit and has attracted lots of interest with the children enjoying and collaborating in the space. The human body interest table has also been explored this week. We will extend this next week as we start to learn about the different body systems. And outside it’s been all about the snails

13.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, step dads, grandfathers and uncles!!! We hope everyone has a great day Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, step dads, grandfathers and uncles!!! We hope everyone has a great day

13.01.2022 This weeks favourite story! A funny story about the types of foods we might find in our lunch boxes. We have been encouraging the children to ‘try’ foods even if that means just simple licking a piece of fruit at meal times or taking a bite of something in their lunch boxes even if they are unsure. We hope you have noticed a little less food in the children’s lunch boxes when you unpack them in the afternoon.

13.01.2022 So far this week we have been busy creating our representations of our community services that do their part in the community to help everyone. We have read some books, had lots of discussions and shared who are individual heroes are. The children have so far shown lots of interest, we are excited to see where this topic leads us. ... Was it the children or educators who have had more fun so far in this creative process?

09.01.2022 Dental Health/ Hygiene The children have just taken part in a science experience focussed on brushing teeth. The experiment aim was to show the children what sugar does to their teeth if they eat/drink too much. We then used pictures of teeth that the children coloured in using a marker and then brushed clean using a tooth brush. This encouraged the children to use the brushing technique that we researched last week as well as developing this fine motor skills. #teethtalkatthedinnertabletonight

07.01.2022 Although our 2020 Christmas party wasn’t the same as we have had in the past, the children still had a great time celebrating this week. Party food, dancing, a visit from Santa and presents will make anyone happy. Merry Christmas!

01.01.2022 Our first house we are creating from the Three Little Pigs story. Later in the week we are going to be making the house made of sticks. If anyone finds themselves at the park and can collect some small sticks we can add to our house that would be great. So far the children have loved this creative experience and shown their interest in recounting the Three Little Pigs story
