25.01.2022 Today and the next six are casual days doing research and sampling with a research team.

24.01.2022 Had two strapping middle aged gents Chris and Jason hire the boat today. Our target was XL KG’s. With a 25 Northerly conditions were very trying with the wind against the tide. Persistents paid off and we bagged in the end, biggest was 50cm with a number of his mates not very far behind. Thanks Chris and Jason for a very entertaining day’s fishing, cheers boys.

23.01.2022 We haven’t found the nest yet, it can’t be to far away!

23.01.2022 We had small widow in the weather yesterday afternoon when it wasn’t blowing it’s tits off. I shot out with Townsville based daughter Renee and her partner Connor for quick crack at some tuna. Their not big at the moment here in Marion Bay, but they are abundant. Total time on the water was 2hrs.

23.01.2022 We are on the board, not huge, but our first pot caught cray this season, out of Marion Bay! We are now pleased to offer Crayfish and Abalone Dive Charters. The Charters will have a duration of 4 hours. You must have: Your own diving equipment,... Cleared to dive open water, There must be 4 divers to conduct a Charter and 4 only. The cost is $150.00 per diver. All state Fisheries regulations will be adhered to, 2 Cray and 3 Blacklip, 3 Greenlip, and 3 other species Abalone per diver. No spears for Crayfish, but loops are permitted. Give us a call if you are interested. Cheers Fellow Fishers. See more

22.01.2022 Righto Guys and Gals we have 2 positions available for a full days Charter this Saturday 03 Oct. Hit me up if you would like to be one or two of the two. 0416107033 The photo's are just great memories of my youngest son "Tossa" with his first ever snapper and the most jovial man I have met - Glenn Blacker, never forgotten.

22.01.2022 Great day on the water today with Marion Bay’s very own celebrity Barmaid Carol and the two Stapping Middle Aged Gents, Jason and Chris. A couple KG’s short of a three person bag, (the rest are in the scale bag) with five over the magic 1kg mark and 50cm mark.

21.01.2022 Moved the pots yesterday to a new area after the big blow and slim results. We got 6 today with an Occy munching 1 and 4 undersize. He went 3.017 kgs. For those interested, Yes that is my lucky red tin.

21.01.2022 Today we are on the guppies, plucking them from 272 feet. Got our quota. Special mention to the new Tangle Master, see if you can pick him.

21.01.2022 Unfortunately there are no Charter fishing photo's this week as yet due to the crappy weather - which has caused the cancellation of 2 Charters this week so far. At this stage it looks like Saturday and Sunday are going to be reasonable days for Fishing Charters. I still a few spots on these Charters so if you interested ($260.00 pp), give us a call. Just a side note - please remember no phones or electronic devices are permitted on the boat while Charter Fishing. We take plenty of photos during the Charter and are happy to forward them to you. My phone can be used and contacted in case of emergencies. Thank you and good hunting people!

21.01.2022 Some action from today.

20.01.2022 The weather this coming Saturday and Sunday look excellent for fishing down here in Marion Bay. If you would like to join us on a Charter, to catch a fish of a life time, give us a call or hit us up with a text. 0416107033. Cheers Fellow Fishers

19.01.2022 Fisheries’s were in Marion Bay yesterday, not at my request as I didn’t report the Red Tin to them. They were here on another matter and my information is that they where very successful. As coincidence would have it, it appears that my supply of Red Tins has dried up and I won’t be getting anymore of them. It would appear the unrelated matter was tied to the same person. Big shout to SA Fisheries for doing a great job and keeping more fish in the water for people that abide by the law and catch their fish legally. Cheers guys and gals.

19.01.2022 Finally, a day without excessive wind!! Got onto the Whitting, Nannygai, Flathead, and a very colorful Blue Devil (that we released). If you weren’t already aware, the Southern Blue Devil is a cave dwelling fish that grows up to 35cm in length and can be found in depths of water from 3m to over 40m!

19.01.2022 Quick trip to check the pots and grab a handful of Nannies.

18.01.2022 Cookie is a great skipper and knows his stuff. Cookie kept us on the fish all day and was very helpful. I had done charters in NSW, QLD, NT and SA over the past 20 years and this is the best charter I have ever done, the fishing, weather and company was awesome.

16.01.2022 My son Ben Cooke and a group of his mates learnt yesterday when visiting the rock pools out past Hillock Point on lower Yokes, keep an eye on the blow holes. Fraser Wyatt is the recipient in this video. Thanks for the laughs over the last week boys.

16.01.2022 You have to remember, according to Thomas Tancock it was blowing 30 with a 6m swell and white caps on top.

15.01.2022 Had a great couple of days with the boys from the Blast Furnace number 2 shift. Had a ton of good laughs, caught some very large Nannies and KGs, got just a couple of tangles and had a steady stream of burley going over the side. It was great fishing with you guys, look forward to seeing you next time. Cheers Cookie

15.01.2022 Four married guys go fishing. After an hour, the following conversation took place... First guy, "You have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out fishi...ng this weekend. I had to promise my wife that I will paint every room in the house next weekend." Second guy, "That's nothing; I had to promise my wife that I will build her a new deck for the pool." Third guy, "Man, you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife that I will remodel the kitchen for her." They continue to fish when they realized that the fourth guy has not said a word! So they asked him. "You haven't said anything about what you had to do to be able to come fishing this weekend. What's the deal?" Fourth guy, "I just set my alarm for 5:30 am. When it went off, I shut off my alarm, gave the wife a nudge and said, "Fishing or sex," and she said, don't forget to wear sun-block! See more

03.01.2022 Just a short burst of action from over the last week on the Toona’s.

01.01.2022 Just a quick trip this morning to grab some KG’s before the weather comes in. New to fishing, Chris with a better than average double.

01.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that as of Saturday 19 September 2020 we will be recommencing Fishing Charters at Marion and Pondilowie Bays, after a long recovery lay off. Get in quick to book your September School holidays Charter. Nothing has changed, prices and all previous conditions/amenities are the same. We will be offering and operating Charters 7 days a week, weather permitting. Feel free to contact Cookie on 0416107033 to arrange your Family, Group or Guys/Gals Charter.... Please feel free to share this post. If you wish to use alternative accommodation I would highly recommend Brett Davis (0417835767) Owner/Operator of Marion Bay Rentals. Brett has over 35 houses and villa in the Marion Bay area that are available for rent. They are capable of large numbers of guests at the one location or something a bit smaller for less people. Meals and accommodation are available at the Marion Bay Tavern & Motel, contact Josh or Megan 88544141. The meals are second to none and I can not go past the American Rib's when I dine there. The staff are only to happy to make pizza's in their wood fired oven for the following day's Charter. Alternatively if you speak to Josh I'm sure he would organise rolls and fruit for the next day. These meals have to be ordered and picked up the day/evening prior to the Charter.

01.01.2022 Due to the weather and conditions of late we would like to introduce half day Tuna Charters out of Marion Bay, to suit the weather windows. They are priced at $150.00 per person with a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 7 people. Don’t stress if you don’t have the minimum number of people for a charter because we will endeavor to add you to a group of people in the same boat. Once again, feel free to share this post, thank you.
