25.01.2022 THE BIG PICNIC | Mon 2nd April The BIG Picnic is happening on the waterfront (opposite the Church) on Easter Monday from 11-3pm. Bring along the whole family to enjoy the line up of activities.... Children's sand crafts (a small charge), free face painting. On stage will be U Bouddi Big Band and other talented young local muso's, first Dominique & then Jacob Stanley, plus Loco Femme. This will be held in the church building if raining. BYO picnic or take advantage of food providers - Pachamama Tacos, Tustra's Paella or Goong's Gourmet Thai or our local cafes (you may need to book). Take the opportunity to chat with our local volunteer organisations on the day: Surf Club, Killy Cares, Marine Rescue & RFS Cake Stall. www.hbcc.com.au

It is helpful to all: clean out your unwanted stuff; give others the chance to acquire a bargain- recycling & fundraising for the community at the same time. Anyone wishing to donate your unwanted household - indoor & outdoor items, can do so on Thursday evening from 5-9pm & Good Friday all day. No clothing, large furniture or old/yellowing books. You can also volunteer to help out- setting up, selling or cleaning up afterwards. Ring Fay 0400 337 147 (no messages)

Hardys Bay Community Church will host this event on site, as a service to families and the community on this very big concern. All welcome, 2-4pm. How can the Arts help with mental health challenges such as depression and suicide, particularly youth suicide. A diverse selection of panellists: Karen Adler (Art therapist & Mental health worker), Pat Hamilton (Psychologist & Music therapist), Peter Bagnall (Builder, Trained Lifeline counsellor) and Dr Yolande Lucire PhD (Medical anthropologist and Forensic pharmacogenticist); MC'd by Stephen Hinks (Pastor, Leadership Mentor).

The art exhibition features the works (on display & for sale) of Teresa McLaren (Canadian), Donella waters (Indigenous Australian) and Karen Adler (Australian), on the them of "Illumination and the Power of the Arts to shed light into darkness".
