23.01.2022 A small group of friends and a sombre day out at the range yesterday as we say good-bye to our life Member and friend Bill Haning. Without Bill we wouldnt have the range to shoot on, so we thank you Bill. Last shot of the day was fired in Bills honour by our club captain and a minute silence observed as we remembered our friend. The empty case will be placed next to the first one fired for Bill when the range was re-opened back in 2017.

23.01.2022 Nice start to the season. Weather was good as was the company, young Beth showed all the guys how it was done with the .223 shooting a 113.4. A few other guys shooting well and a couple more not on the score card sighting in rifles and breaking in barrels for the new season. Finished the day off with a bbq. Looking forward to the years shooting. Cheers Hairy

12.01.2022 Good fun yesterday at the range. The 6.5mm creedmoor absolutely dominated the 300 yard mound with a score of 59 and tired at the 800 yard mound taking the over all win for the day. Was also good to see the boys out with the service rifles, sorry no photos Ill make more of an effort next time! Cheers Hairy

12.01.2022 Unfortunately guys there will be no shooting this Saturday due to the weather. There is a lot of water built up along the road and around the back of the mantlet.

10.01.2022 Great day out at the range yesterday. The old .308 managed to take the win from the 700 yard mound in less than favourable conditions. Afterwards we came in a lot closer and had a hunting rifle/service rifle match shooting free hand. The scores may have dropped but the entertainment value definitely did not!! One member even managed to sneak in some load development. Finished the day off with a BBQ lunch.

05.01.2022 Great day out the range yesterday some good scores coming through with the 7mm/284 win taking the day with a 111.6. Finished off the day helping some new members zero their rifles. Always glad to help new people get into a terrific sport! Looking forward to next week. Cheers Hairy

05.01.2022 Club shooting is cancelled tomorrow Saturday the 13th due to the rain and muddy conditions on the mounds. Cheers Hairy

05.01.2022 PASTORALISTS LOBBY FOR GUN CHANGES Pastoralists battling with an influx of feral camels from drought conditions want access to high powered rifles to help contr...ol the pest animals. Southern rangelands pastoralists want access to semi automatic self-loading firearms, known as category D firearms. They raised the issue with WA Agriculture Minister Allanah MacTienann at a Laverton meeting earlier this month. She raised the issue with WA police but they "strongly advised against any changes to gun regulations around Category D firearms: community safety must always be our priority." Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party MP Rick Mazza supports the idea, saying it would help station owners with pest control. He also wants the state government to take action on the 2016 Law Reform Commissions review of the Firearms Act. None of the 140 recommendations have been implemented from this review, despite police support for a some of the suggested changes. What do you think? Do you think under certain circumstances land owners should be able to access semi automatic guns?

05.01.2022 Guys Grant will be at the range tomorrow if anyone wants to attend, please be there by 12:00to help set-up. Please note the gates will be locked by 1:00 due to covid-19 restrictions.

03.01.2022 As all of you are aware, Claremont Firearms has been the victim of a criminal act overnight... We greatly appreciate all of your concern and are concentrating o...ur efforts on getting ourselves back on track and most importantly working with Western Australia Police to find the culprits and ensure the safety of the general public.. For those that have asked, all of our staff are unharmed and although spirits are a little low, we will be fine and back open for business as soon as possible. For all of you who have been affected by this criminal act, we will contact you once we have a greater insight into the status of our inventory. Again, thankyou for your support and concern. The Claremont Firearms team.

02.01.2022 Sounds like a good way to spend a Sunday

01.01.2022 Hey all, there will be no club shooting over the Easter long weekend as many of us have things planned with our families. I hope to see you all on the 27th for 400/800 yards. Happy Easter!!! Cheers Hairy

01.01.2022 Nice morning at the 600 yard mound today. The old .308 managed to get the win but the 6.5 Creedmoor was nipping at its heals. Was also a personal best score from one of our members so was smiles all round. Below is a photo of just how small the target center is at 600 yards, not a bad effort to hit if you ask me.
