02.01.2022 Nth Melbourne courier and west melbourne advertiser DATED 30 JANUARY 1903 BOUNDARY ROAD STATE SCHOOL. TlE New Year has brought with it ... changes in the Boundary Road State School No. 2566. For three years or more the average attendance at this school has not warranted it being classed as a second class school. T, be a se cond class school the average attendance -nomust-be aieast-500,-It- hasnever-ex ee-e- -475- for4- -considerable-time. While Mr. Remfry was in charge, the Department failed to re-classify it; but as soon-as--Mr.- Evan-su-ceeded ,Mr. Remfry it was re-classfied, and is now called a IIIA Class School. In.conse quence of this re-classification, the head teacher, the 1st female assistants, the Ist male assistant, and the 2nd female assistant, are transferred as vacancies in their several classes occur. This is one of the reasons which Mr. Remfry had for leaving. As he wished to be near town he applied for, and got Cambridge Street School, which is a sure second class, and may probably become a first. Through the operation of this law Mr. McDermott, some time ago, was trans ferred to Brunswick North. Now MLr. Crockett has been transferred to Vere Street, and Miss Churcher to Stawell. Mr. Crockett preferring country life has exchanged with the teacher at Malm bury. Miss Churcher, by going to Stawell, receives promotion--she is now at the top of the tree. After school on Thursday, the teachers met to say "good bye" to both these teachers, and re quested them to accept a small me mento in remembrance of their happy connection with State School 2566. Mr. Crockett has been for 18 years connected with Boundary road S. school. He has taught his pupils' children. The school will miss, him. We wish him every fortune in his new sphere. He will be head teacher at Malmsbury, and have a staff of two assistants and two pupil teachers, Going to a mining district he will be able to pursue his -fiavoriteo--hobbyj gedogy-and-mineraTogy (in which he already is an authority) to his heart's content. The head teacher (Mr. Evans) is the only one now re maining for whom a suitable vacancy is needed. When it occurs he will bo re moved to fresh fields and pastures new. It is anticipated that that will occur shortly. .......... .... Mr. Evans desiresi us to correct a statement made in our issue of the 18th December last, that he bore the expense of the buns, lollies, etc., which were given to the infants on break-up-day. Before Mr. Remfry left Messrs. Reynolds and Glasgow kindly donated 1 to the sports, which did not take place. When Mr. Evans came that 1 was handed to him. He kept it until this suitable opportunity occurred of spending it, so Messrs. Reynolds and Glasgow are to be thanked for their kindness in providing enjoyment for the Fix this text little ones last Christmas.
