23.01.2022 This is worth simply wonderful. A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does love mean?' The answers they g...ot were broader, deeper, and more profound than anyone could have ever imagined! 'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore... So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.' Rebecca - age 8 'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.' Billy - age 4 'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.' Karl - age 5 'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.' Chrissy - age 6 'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.' Terri - age 4 'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.' Danny - age 8 'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and just listen.' Bobby - age 7 (Wow!) 'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate.' Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet) 'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it every day.' Noelle - age 7 'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.' Tommy - age 6 'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.' Cindy - age 8 'My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.' Clare - age 6 'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.' Elaine - age 5 'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.' Chris - age 7 'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.' Mary Ann - age 4 'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.' Lauren - age 4 'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' (what an image!) Karen - age 7 'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross...' Mark - age 6 'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.' Jessica - age 8 And the final one: The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry.' Now, take 60 seconds and post this for others to see. And then be a child again today! <3

21.01.2022 "Yoga is a cycle of action, reflection, action, reflection. We need the formal practice of Asana, Pranayama, and meditation, but we also need the informal practice of living it: feelings arise, we identify and experience them, and then weave that into the fabric of the moment and tell people our truth." - Judith Hansen Lasater"Yoga is a cycle of action, reflection, action, reflection. 16.01.2022 There was a farmer who grew excellent quality corn. Every year he won the award for the best grown corn. One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learn...ed something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors. How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbors when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year? the reporter asked. Why sir, said the farmer, Didn’t you know? The wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbors grow inferior corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbors grow good corn. So is with our lives... Those who want to live meaningfully and well must help enrich the lives of others, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. And those who choose to be happy must help others find happiness, for the welfare of each is bound up with the welfare of all... -Call it power of collectivity... -Call it a principle of success... -Call it a law of life. The fact is, none of us truly wins, until we all win!! I love this post sent in from a follower of the page. Keep them coming. <3 If you liked this, and shared it, follow John M. Sweeney for more.

15.01.2022 Action is movement with intelligence. The world is filled with movement. What the world needs is more conscious movement; more action. B.K.S. Iyengar For many people, yoga has come to be known as beautiful bodies in acrobatic, challenging poses. It's easy to forget that yoga is not about creating perfect shapes.... The perfect asana has little to do with aesthetics. Rather, it is the external manifestation of consciousness movement; a shape that honors our body as it is in the present moment. When we strive to create the ideal posture without reference to our internal environment, it becomes something empty and weak; regardless of how visually pleasing it may appear. In contrast, when we practice from within, we allow the shape of the posture to evolve. Even if the external manifestation differs from the classical version of a pose, when we practice from a place of inner wisdom and authenticity, our movements are transformed into yoga. - Eva Nordick-Smith, YogaUonline

12.01.2022 A Blessing For One Who Is Exhausted by John O’Donohue When the rhythm of the heart becomes hectic, Time takes on the strain until it breaks; Then all the unattended stress falls in... On the mind like an endless, increasing weight, The light in the mind becomes dim. Things you could take in your stride befor Now become laboursome events of will. Weariness invades your spirit. Gravity begins falling inside you, Dragging down every bone. The tide you never valued has gone out. And you are marooned on unsure ground. Something within you has closed down; And you cannot push yourself back to life. You have been forced to enter empty time. The desire that drove you has relinquished. There is nothing else to do now but rest And patiently learn to receive the self You have forsaken for the race of days. At first your thinking will darken And sadness take over like listless weather. The flow of unwept tears will frighten you. You have travelled too fast over false ground; Now your soul has come to take you back. Take refuge in your senses, open up To all the small miracles you rushed through. Become inclined to watch the way of rain When it falls slow and free. Imitate the habit of twilight, Taking time to open the well of colour That fostered the brightness of day. Draw alongside the silence of stone Until its calmness can claim you. Be excessively gentle with yourself. Stay clear of those vexed in spirit. Learn to linger around someone of ease Who feels they have all the time in the world. Gradually, you will return to yourself, Having learned a new respect for your heart And the joy that dwells far within slow time.

08.01.2022 The thing about laryngitis is you are pushed to actually do the things you had been previously just been toying with in the back of your mind. These pods are the audio recordings of the Zoom practices I was offering when we were all in lockdown. Hope your enjoy. xx

08.01.2022 The Word - by Tony Hoagland Down near the bottom of the crossed-out list of things you have to do today, Between green thread and broccoli, you find that you have pencilled sunlight.... Resting on the page, the word is beautiful. It touches you as if you had a friend and sunlight were a present he had sent from someplace distant as this morning- to cheer you up, and to remind you that, among your duties, pleasure is a thing that also needs accomplishing. Do you remember? that time and light are kinds of love, and love is no less practical than a coffee grinder or a safe spare tire? Tomorrow you may be utterly without a clue, but today you get a telegram from the heart in exile, proclaiming that the kingdom still exists, the king and queen alive, still speaking to their children, -to any one among them who can find the time to sit out in the sun and listen.

08.01.2022 The thing about going into lockdown again is (as Sandy Tokvig would say) my diary is wide open = More time for Yoga Outdoor fitness classes still allowed ATM thank goodness.

01.01.2022 Just practicing showing up for my practice today - strolling along the Angus River in Strathalbyn Your practice doesn’t expect you to show up happy. It asks that you be present. It doesn’t mind if you are put together, or if you are a mess. You can arrive with a jumbled mind and a heavy heart. Your practice couldn’t care less if you can touch your toes or meditate for hours. It asks simply, that you show up.
