22.01.2022 Honoured to be featured in The Well Review, A wonderful literary journal from Cork, Ireland. Thanks so much guys! The Well Review #Repost @thewellreview with @get_repost Welcome this weekend to The Bouquiniste! :... "Bouquiniste Book Cafe was founded in 2017 by Clay and Hannah, two Kiama locals with a background in writing, publishing, retail and hospitality. The bricks and mortar space at Shop 1 Kiama Centrepoint also boasts a special connection. In 1983, Clay’s parents first leased the space for their optical business and remained for 32 years, before relocating a few doors down. Clay literally grew up playing on the shop floor. In 2017, Clay and Hannah decided to lease the space again under a different name, turning their hypothetical bookstore café into a real one. And so, Bouquiniste was born. A place that welcomes a community of readers through highly curated bookshelves, book events and monthly bookclub. In old French, Bouquiniste means ‘Bookseller’, and pays homage to the hundreds of booksellers along the River Seine in Paris, where all the trinkets that decorate the bookshelves have been collected from. To Kiama, Bouquiniste means a place where you can enjoy a Brewtown espresso, a local wine, listen to some good ole Rock’n’Roll and pick up all the best books." Tune in Sunday for the team's book recommendations! #buylocal #bookshops #booksofinstagram #kiama #newsouthwales #australia #downunder #supportlocal #buylocal #indiebusiness #inspiration #bouquinistes

09.01.2022 #Repost @the.reading.edit with @get_repost I love a memoir to kick off a new year of reading. Partly because I need some variety after the fiction-fest that is December, but also to get some inspiration and motivation for the year ahead I typically wouldn’t be drawn to anything by Matthew McConaughey. I never disliked him, I just thought of him as the good-looking, rom-com actor with the Texan accent. So I was surprised that his memoir revealed so much more. It is intel...ligent, insightful, brilliantly written and wildly entertaining. In ‘Greenlights’, McConaughey retells his most pivotal, life-affirming or life-changing stories and adventures, along the way offering his bumper stickers and prescriptions for life, notes to self and ‘green light’ moments. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by the man himself. I followed it up by watching Dallas Buyers Club, the 2014 movie that earned McConaughey an Academy Award for Best Actor Thanks to Clay @bouquinistekiama for the recommendation! And thanks to Matthew McConaughey for an unexpected, entertaining start to 2021! Here’s to catching more ‘green lights’ throughout the year For more on ‘Greenlights’, see link in bio #greenlights #audiobook #bookreview #bookrecommendations #recommendedreading #readingrecommendations #memoir #bookstagramaustralia #bibliophile #bookstagram #booklover #bookblogger #booksbooksbooks #reading #books #newrelease #whattoreadnext
