All of these things have been at the front of mind because they have been important to you. One thing that we must not forget is to ensure that we are not paying more tax than we should be paying. ... Below is a list of things that you should take into account to ensure that your financial affairs are as tax effective as possible before 30 June 2020.

22.01.2022 Similar to the Federal Vacancy Tax, the Victorian Government introduced the Victorian Vacant Residential Land Tax (VVRLT) to help address the lack of housing supply in Victoria. Unlike the Federal Vacancy Tax, the VVRLT is not limited to foreign residents. It is imposed against all residential land owners who allow their residential properties to remain vacant for more than 6 months in a calendar year. If you have a residential property that has remained (or is likely to be)... vacant for 6 months and is located in one of the named council areas, then you are required to notify the State Revenue Office. To find out more about the VVRLT and if it applies to you, click below. http://www.bourneandweir.com.au/victorian-vacant-residenti/

16.01.2022 As part of the push to try and make housing more affordable, the Federal Government introduced Vacancy Fees for foreign owners of residential dwellings in Australia in December 2017. The fee is intended to encourage foreign owners of residential real estate to make their properties available for rent where they are not occupied as a residence, and so increase the number of properties available for Australians to live in. If youre a foreign owner of a residential dwelling y...ou may be liable to pay the vacancy fee.
