Wendy & Clive Kirby took over its management in August 2015 and are dedicated to providing quality food and drink in a relaxed atmosphere. To compliment a lovely wine list Pig & Goose source ingredients from local producers as well as serving up many housemade products, such as break, cakes and pies. Treat yourself to a very long lunch if you are in the neighbourhood!

I am constantly reminded when speaking to my many clients and now friends of how tough and uncertain the life of a farmer and wine grower/maker can be. 19.01.2022 McCoppins must hold a special place in the hearts of many Melburnians, it certainly does with our team. With its main bottleshops in McCoppins Fitzroy Fitzroy and McCoppins Abbotsford Abbotsford staying open until midnight, it provides a magical extra couple of hours to stock up after most others have closed. They've also been ahead of the curve when it comes to stocking a wide range of quality beer and more importantly, there's an excellent wine selection that, in part, changes to reflect the season. The Fitzroy store holds free tastings every Friday. Usually running from 5pm to 8pm, they flit between beer and wine week by week. It's an institution and a spot that keeps you coming back.

19.01.2022 Chardonnay is making a comeback! A good chardonnay is a pleasure to behold and we have got just the one for you! There first with this variety, the Brockenchack Wines 2015 Charli-Jaye Single Vinyard Eden Valley Chardonnay was rated in the top 20 premium chardonnays by drinks magazine tasting panel April/May 2016 issue. The Eden Valley will never challenge Margaret River, Yarra Valley or other top chardonnay regions, but this is a neat wine, with melon, stone fruit and grapefruit flavours all contributing. With 91 points awarded by James Halliday, it's a lovely wine to have on a summer afternoon!

14.01.2022 Yarran Wines Sauvingnon Blanc 2015 is a winner. That is a silver and bronze medal winner! Perfect for summer sipping this beautiful wine is crafted from a carefully selected clone of Sauvignon Blanc that was recently planted in the Yarran vineyard at Yenda, NSW. producing fruit with great varietal character and intensity, It yields lower, with bunches being smaller and thick skinned berries which in turn create a really aromatic style. One of our favourites, make sure you try one this summer!
