25.01.2022 Today I am grateful for ‘sanctuary’ moments. Thinking lots about the meaning of this word at the moment as we head into our 5th week of lockdown, second time around in Melbourne.

22.01.2022 A good news story; we met the owner of this home when she was experiencing some significant life challenges. During difficult times and hardship, when your own house doesn’t feel like home it can be very unsettling. During our consultation, we discussed ways to help reestablish a sense of home using items already owned and a few extras. We kept things simple so that if further change is necessary, there won’t be waste. And then our client set to work using our notes and checking in with her consultant regularly. This week she contacted us with this photo!!! What a total champion she is to have pulled this beautiful space together. She was thankful... but more importantly, empowered! We love our job

21.01.2022 A day of styling is always fun and full. Somehow when you finish, you have less in the room than when you started and you wonder how it could possibly have taken so long! Yesterday’s styling marathon went from 10am-10.30pm with 6 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 5 bathrooms and a few living rooms in the mix too. The beauty of this project is that we aren’t styling for sale; this home is going to be treasured for many years to come. #HappyFriday

20.01.2022 Sometimes when we style a home, we use our clients own furniture and compliment their pieces with some special purchases made on their behalf. The benefits are that our purchases are selected by our designers to work in beautifully with existing furnishings and our clients get to take their spend on to their next home. This project was styled yesterday in time for real estate photos today. So much fun working with this rich palette that was inspired by our savvy young clients.

15.01.2022 So exciting to see this gorgeous Entertainment Unit that was built after a recent online zoom consultation. Clients met with Boutique Yellow remotely and walked us around their new apartment. We used floor plans & photos and then made our recommendations, sharing our preferred cabinet makers. We are really delighted to have been a part of this and love the progress photos clients send through. Yay! Happy Friday.

15.01.2022 Maybe it comes down to the popularity of The Block, however a question we often get asked when we are consulting, is how to create a focal point in a Master Bedroom. There are a number of things to consider when we style bedrooms; so this tutorial is longer and includes our suggestions on where to spend and where to save. We have included a practical demo made up of soft furnishings that wouldn't usually work together... just to demonstrate that is it possible to create a s...tyled look and colour balance using items that do not all come from a 'set'. 09.01.2022 As we have all nestled into our homes these last weeks, Boutique Yellow has been continuing to meet our clients... from a distance. Our online consultation process is working well as we continue existing projects on Philip Island, in Sydney and across Melbourne. Clients are getting creative in how they set up their home office spaces. People are thinking about life through a different lens. There is a general sense of finding comfort through pausing to check on our familie...s, friends and neighbours. There are wonderful conversations happening and lovely acts of kindness across neighbourhoods. For me this week, it was a time to take regular intentional moments to be refreshed; like potting some house plants and having a go at restringing my kokedama (not a great result but it was fun!) While working in the studio, I have taken comfort from the extra background noises of giggles (and arguments), knowing my boys are close by. Be Well everyone! We are in this together!
