25.01.2022 Construction Industry Growth Sectors The Defence sector is one of the few sectors that has forecasted an increased pipeline for construction in 2020/2021. A majority of the commercial sector is forecasting up to a 20% decline in turnover. One of the advantages of getting into Defence, is that Defence infrastructure projects have a steady pipeline, Defence is the biggest property owner in Australia, and therefore has continual upgrades and maintenance opportunities. The main ...challenges of bidding with Defence 1. Understanding how to bid with Defence. 2. Identification of Austender opportunities 3. How to populate tender schedules 4. Understanding the evaluation criteria of Defence tenders -unlike other clients Defence has a higher value rating for the team, methodology and experience. How can your company win Defence work? Look up BOUW.com.au and request a pipeline, and until the end of August, Ben Seesink will provide you a free strategy session on how BOUW will be able to assist your company win Defence work.

12.01.2022 5 things that will affect the Construction Industry with the $270 billion Defence spend The PM announced the $270 billion Defence spend over the next 10 years this week, people have said to me it’s a pity its not infrastructure or buildings. This is not the case, roughly for every billion dollars there is around $100m in infrastructure works support the new capability. Here are five assumptions that we can take from this announcement: 1. Land investment $55b Autonomous ve...hicle R&D facilities, training areas and weapon system ranges, long range rocket ranges. New workshops, working accommodation and training facilities for enhanced Artillery Regiments. 2. $11b Riverine patrol craft and amphibious vessels workshops, new unit accommodation, administration buildings, communications infrastructure, wharf and marine infrastructure. 3. Air $65b likely to include research and development facilities on remote training areas, bombing ranges, new weapon system storage/maintenance facilities. For new remotely piloted and autonomous aircraft facilities likely to include new unit facilities including working accommodation, new air fields, upgrades to RAAF Bases, new communications and control infrastructure, workshops, hangars and R&D facilities. 4. Defence Enterprise $6.8b-$10.2b Undersea warfare facilities and infrastructure, enhancement of RAAF facilities in NT, upgrade key ports and infrastructure to support amphibious vessels. 5. $22b in Space and Cyber New secure data centres, working accommodation and communications infrastructure. BOUW issues a monthly pipeline to track these opportunities, if you want to know more email: [email protected].
