25.01.2022 We're getting ready to head out this week to visit our friends in Ashford, Warialda, Moree, and Inverell! We'll be driving along many of these same roads and keeping an eye out for critters in the longyard!

25.01.2022 Huge fun today at the Diversional and Recreation Therapy Australia's annual conference! Jade Gilchrist from Clifton Community Health Services presented our Bow & Curtsy program, and we illustrated the talk with program components. So wonderful to see friends from Maureen from Miles and Kelly from Dalby, and to meet a heap of new folks! Thank you so much Jade for your fabulous presentation, and thanks to the DRTA for our lovely gifts! Have a brilliant evening all!

23.01.2022 Epic Bow & Curtsy at Fairview Retirement Village Moree today! The room was packed and the excitement was bristling. Adrian, Shirley, and Pam played the fiddle and there was hooting and honkytonk dancing galore. Bill hopped up and presented a song after our finale. We stopped at Warialda Bakery on the way and saw an emu on the Wallangra Rd. Many thanks to Sunhaven Hostel for hosting our Northern Tablelands tour, one more show tomorrow and we'll be heading home!

21.01.2022 Wonderful day at Richardson House Barraba. The fiddle players were top class, and Col did a great job looking after Yellow Bird. It was lovely to have the folks from the MPS join us on such a beautiful crisp day. The news reading from 1899 told us that there was a drought back then too, and the tale of pugilism at the Cobbadah races had us all amused. Thanks so much to Lifestyle Co-ordinator Kylie, and Manager Jo, for a great visit. All the best to Jo for exciting times ahead!

20.01.2022 Our new Adrienne, found at the Salvos in Barraba!

18.01.2022 Big fun morning with the HammondCare Northern Rivers Waratahs Group at the Casino Community & Cultural Centre today. What a lovely bunch of folks and a great venue. Thanks Jayne and the volunteers for your kind hospitality!

18.01.2022 Some live hillbilly action from Richardson House!

16.01.2022 We're off to present the inner workings of our Bow & Curtsy program at Diversional and Recreational Therapy Association's 2019 Conference at the Gold Coast Fri 13 Sept. Lifestyle Coordinator Jade Gilchrist of Clifton Community Health Services will be presenting an analysis of our program, while we demonstrate in real time during the talk!

13.01.2022 Here are some lovely photos from our last session at McLean Care Inverell. We have such great fun here, and the crack rhythm squad is simply awesome! Thanks Jannine and all at McLean Care!

13.01.2022 Such a lovely day with the HammondCare Kyogle Banksias last week. Our good friend Jean Warburton was in fabulous form and we had heaps of fun with Joy and the gang! Thanks so much to Phillip and the volunteers for a lovely morning tea!

11.01.2022 We're excited to announce that we'll be working close to home for a while as we turn our attention to new local ventures. We'll still be available to Bow & Curtsy on weekends, so please get in touch if you'd like us to visit a centre in the area below. If you are outside this area and have a fabulous idea for a dedicated weekend event, we'd love to hear from you. Many thanks to the clients and supporters of our regional tours, which ran from 2016 to 2019 with... 25 clients from Gladstone to Roma, Texas to Barraba and 20 towns in between. We are eternally grateful to our accommodation hosts Sunhaven Hostel and Paula Beveridge and family in Ashford, Collin Hunt and staff at O'Shea's Windsor Hotel Dalby, and the Queens Arms Hotel Roma, Commercial Hotel TARA, and Tarcoola Hostel Tara for helping us get further out west. Thank you all for such happy times and great memories! We look forward to getting back your way when the fates allow. See more

11.01.2022 High tea at Bingara MPS today, how jolly posh! The rhythm section was most impressive, particularly Doreen's spoon playing. Doreen also had a go at the fiddle, as did Shirley and Bruce. Thank you so much for having us Johnette Walker, you are a most fabulous host!

09.01.2022 Two Bow & Curtsy shows done and dusted on our Ashford tour. Yesterday we performed for our hosts Sunhaven Hostel, with Ron, Nola, and Gordon playing the fiddle. Today Maddy, Margaret and Enid all showed their fiddle playing skills when we visited Naroo at Warialda, with all the folks from Warialda MPS coming across the road to join the party! What great fun was had on this very chilly day in the New England Tablelands!

09.01.2022 A unique horse much better than some humans

05.01.2022 Final Bow & Curtsy for our June tour at the Grace Munro Centre at Bundarra. Fiddle players Trig, Mary, and Enid are seasoned professionals now, having played almost every visit. We read out an article from 1861 about the Bundarra Commercial Hotel, describing its construction in only eight weeks and the magnificent party that followed. Here's a picture of us taken last year in that very hotel, built 100 years before Watling was born. An amazing landmark in this very historic town. Many thanks to Emily & Penny for hosting our visit to Bumdarra, see you again soon!

05.01.2022 Some photos from our session at Richardson House yesterday, the southernmost centre on our regional tours. We have an absolute hoot when we visit and it's always crisp and cool. Many thanks to Kylie and Jo for having us, and to all the residents for making us feel so welcome!

04.01.2022 We topped off our weekend at the Tara Festival of Culture and Camel Races with a Bow & Curtsy at Tarcoola Tara. Pip, Jeanette, and Meg played fiddle, and Pip and fellow horseman Dennis and his daughter Ann all knew about the legendary horsewoman May Wood. Thanks to Anita and the crew at Tarcoola for a lovely morning before we headed out under a pastel sky to make our way home. Thanks to resident Jeanette for taking our photo!

03.01.2022 Cool and fresh at Texas MPS today! Bill played all three fiddle tunes with amazing rhythm chops, a very talented man. Headed to the Texas Community Op Shop afterwards to look for more song mascots, found a black & white bull, an elephant, and a kookaburra from the Sydney Olympics. Many thanks to Sally Ridgway for hosting our visit, and Shirlie Ward for being such a great support!

02.01.2022 Lovely visit to see Jade Gilchrist and the crew at Clifton Community Health Services today, over the border in Qld, just north of Warwick. Horses are on our minds at the moment, so we read an article from Trove about the fine horses at the 1940 Clifton Show. One resident told us that she had shown her horse in the same competition, and was a friend of Miss Pat Anderson of Allora, whose horse Mickey Mouse was the champion of the show. History came to life in Clifton today!

02.01.2022 ICYMI An aged care facility in the UK has built a replica of a 1950s main street within its grounds. 02.01.2022 Final Bow & Curtsy for this leg of our Northern Tablelands tour was at McLean Care Inverell with Leisure & Lifestyle Team Leader Jannine. The folks here have a crack rhythm squad that meets fortnightly to hone their skills, and we were amazed by their precision and energy! The fiddle section was most impressive, with Aubrey, Robert, Mary, and Rae all tearing it up on the fake Stradivarius. The star of the day was Pam on woodblock, who was an absolute rhythm machine and brimm...ing with enthusiasm! The Tennessee Stud was a favourite with much interaction from the residents, and the four headed topsy turvy doll was quickly taken to task. Fabulous day! Thanks Jannine for having us, and thank you Sunhaven Hostel Ashford for kindly hosting our accommodation! We'll be back in a couple of weeks for the second leg of our Northern Tablelands tour!
