Your thumbs should also face forward not each other or you are restricting your range if shoulder movement when you lift your arms above your head.

15.01.2022 I have been swimming for a few seasons now and i can honestly say I leave the pool pain free everytime, which is not how I arrive! Breast stroke helps put the arch back in my spine, very Important in the prevention of bulging discs and side stroke is the bomb for stretching out my twisting muscles which is the culprit for throwing your hips out of alignment every 4-6 weeks.

They pin your shoulders back into the correct position preventing shoulder bursitis which is one of the most common causes of rounded shoulders. 04.01.2022 Inversion Therapy For bulging disc sufferers I encourage my clients to purchase a yoga swing for inversion therapy at home. These swings allow you to ... Decompress your spine from your pelvis rather than through your limbs which are involved when using Inversion tables. It puts unnecessary strain on shoulders amd ankles that can cause additional problems. The only obstacle for many, Especially those renting is where to hang it. You can use it outside and hang from a tree or kids swing set but I came across this today and thought it was quite a bargain so thought I’d share. 04.01.2022 TURKEY NECK EPIDEMIC A common problem coming in now due to the fact that everybody is looking down at technology is huge knots between the shoulder blades, rounded shoulders and the turkey neck look. Our head weighs approximately 5kgs and increases in weight for every inch that we lower it. The muscles between our shoulder blades are overstrained by holding onto the weight. ... Holding the devices is also causing rounded shoulders. When our shoulders move forward the bursa (fluid) sac in our shoulder joint gets irritated and inflamed causing shoulder bursitis. If your a side sleeper this also adds to the problem as our shoulders are concaving in our sleep adding to the posture Problem. A quick fix is to put a firm pillow in front of our chest. Back to the turkey neck - when our head is down and we do look up we are not moving our head back onto our shoulders causing our neck posture to be in a forward position in front of our body instead of on top of our shoulders. A great exercise to retrain your neck back into the right place is to stand against a walk and try to push your neck into the wall. I have not seen too many people get close yet. The shoulder posture straps are a great way to retrain your shoulders back to where they should be and I have some here to sell but will be getting in more they are $15 each and come in S, M, L, XL.

I am taking every health precaution possible with my work environment and social distancing rules are being adhered to. I respect your wishes should you wish to bring your own towels etc but hand sanitiser, gloves, dettol wipes, handee towels and disposable facehole covers etc are all provided as are shower facilities if... you are coming from work or would like to use them before or after treatment. 02.01.2022 CLOVE OIL AND PAIN RELIEF So I was curious tonight about what else Oil of Cloves can fix. If it can fix an aching tooth (one of the debiliating pains) can it fix a migraine/headache? Went searching and found it can fix a whole lot of stuff so thought I'd share.... I have a few essential oils I use in my treatment room (peppermint oil supposedly great for tension headaches) but always good to know the ones that can fix pain. 02.01.2022 INTRODUCNG MY NEW THERAPIST - RUTH WALES It is my pleasure to introduce to you all my friend, student and now addtonal part time Therapist here at Bowen Me.... Ruth will be joining me on Wednesday afternoons doing Dorn Therapy, Breuss Massage and Hyperton-X. Dorn Therapy otherwise known as The Dorn Method is a structural therapy originatng from Germany and is a gentle structural alternative therapy to Chiro. Many of you probably havent heard of it as there are very few instructors that teach it in Australia.. It is a fantastic modality I mainly use on bulging disc and scoliosis sufferers together with the Breuss massage - a spinal massage that relaxes, rejuvenates, stretches and nourishes the spine. Hyperton-X helps move muscles out of a hypertonic state or restricted range of movement usng resistence stretching. Ruth has her advanced qualificaton in Dorn Therapy but for the past 16 years she has been workng with people who have disabilities as a Conductive Education Therapist. Conductive Education is not a medical model of rehabilitation but an educational one that has been specifically developed for children and adults who have motor disorders of neurological origin such as cerebral palsy. By learning Dorn Therapy and Hyperton-x (which we learnt together), it has helped her bring a more Holistic approach to her therapy sessions. She has worked in both individual and group settings and I am so thrilled to be able to give her the opportunity to use her skills in a clinical setting and for her to meet some of my fabulous clients. I know you wlll all just love her fun and outgonig personality. Welcome onboard Ruth!
