24.01.2022 A few ideas if you might be feeling discouraged ~ Shane

23.01.2022 Potassium is one of the most abundant minerals in our body and is a SUPER critical electrolyte in everything from our hearts beating, to water and nutrient move...ment within our digestive tract, to how our cells move other minerals like copper in and out of our cells. The nature of the electrolytes is that they help with electrical movement throughout our body - potassium is needed for muscles to contract, nerve impulses and communication. It also plays an important role in maintaining the balance of fluids in the body. Did you know that these symptoms are all connected to insufficient potassium? Constipation Muscle weakness Digestive issues Abnormal heart rhythm Numbness Mood and cognitive function Blood pressure fluctuation (high and low!) Muscle cramps and twitches Difficulty/restricted breathing We are ideally meant to get 4700mg of potassium per day... how much potassium do YOU get?

22.01.2022 "The ideal time for a Bowtech session is immediately after an injury. That way, your body can overcome the trauma before it begins to compensate for it. (The co...mpensations often create more problems in the long run than the initial trauma itself.) If you cant get to a Bowtech practitioner immediately, the sooner you can, the better. Within three days is ideal for the quickest and most complete recovery." 17.01.2022 Ive snorted, cried and howled with laughter watching this

15.01.2022 I am broken. For now. I'm sending this from my bed. Most of you will remember when I did my back last year. Well... after warning signs and niggles over the last three weeks, it's happened again! I literally stood up from a chair after playing cards with my kids. It's always the simple things; the straw that breaks the camel's back.. Luckily, I've once again been surrounded by loved ones who have quite literally helped me to stand, sit, shower, pull my pants up and care... for my kids, etc. It's excruciating and I absolutely HATE being so helpless. Perhaps there's a lesson in patience and in accepting help. I don't always have to be the one taking care of others... For now, I've got some good drugs and I've been lucky to have a Bowen - thank you Jo from Jo's Wellness Therapies, for coming to treat me in crisis (again). I highly recommend Jo to all of my clients I'm about to cancel on this week... Allison has been slack and not doing enough self-care. Don't be like Allison...

13.01.2022 Yes, it is. So, so powerful.

12.01.2022 Recently, I shared a post discussing the importance of ceruloplasmin and how significantly it is impacted when we are stressed. Another common question people h...ave for me is why they show up "low" in iron and yet the research I share, suggests its not as simple as insufficient iron... its actually about "bioavailability". Did you know that, without enough bioavailable (functional) copper, we cant make hemoglobin? Did you know that ferritin is a poor marker of iron stores, as ferritin is meant to be inside the cells, not "loose" in the blood? This can be disorientating when you first hear it, but please do read on, and also continue to read the research I share with you. In order for us to be able to access the iron we have stored in our body, we need the right transporter proteins to be available. One of those which is critical to the process is ceruloplasmin. As mentioned before, the amount of functional ceruloplasmin will drop when under stress - this is tied to us losing "bioavailable copper" during stress responses. This protein has a critical antioxidant capacity in our bodies and one of its functions is to help the body move iron from storage to our bone marrow, where hemoglobin is made. I can share research around this topic if you are interested, so please yell out if this is the case. Ill be sharing ways you can increase your bioavailable copper and improve "functional iron" in coming posts. As always, if you have any specific questions, please dont hesitate to ask. If you would like personalised 1:1 guidance, I can assist you with that too, just get in touch.

12.01.2022 Good Morning Were allowed to re-open! Im taking appointments for Wednesday this week. AllisonGood Morning Were allowed to re-open! Im taking appointments for Wednesday this week. Allison

12.01.2022 Last week we went to Brisbane for Charlottes cardiac MRI. She was very nervous and had a cry at the start of the appointment from complete overwhelm and worry about the contrast. Then she got herself together and we did it- no contrast!! We watched the new Cinderella movie - completely... thats how long it takes! She was amazing- lay completely still the whole time concentrating on the deep breath holds. To say Im proud is an understatement

09.01.2022 Sometimes we try to be- or sound too clever whilst the obvious is staring us in the face

08.01.2022 I know Ive been a little MIA lately and Im not really sorry. Im starting the year right by looking after me; which means an extended break this year- how good it is to catch up with friends and family So.... Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and God Bless those fighting fires. Im back at work from Tuesday 14th. Looking forward to seeing you again this year. Thank you for all your support to date. Xxx

07.01.2022 Yes. And for the most part my little warrior is just like everyone else... At the moment were preparing to head away to Brisbane for another MRI this week. This is a big deal as she needs to lie still and do 100 deep breath holds, plus have the contrast (the bit shes dreading). She was brilliant 2 years ago and the staff were amazed at how she coped, being awake (age 7). I did some serious prepping for this one, making a MRI machine and practicing with the audio (pics in ...comments). Anyhow.. thats whats happening in my life. Oh, and the little brother also has a murmur which we had investigated earlier this month too. Goodie. His seems to be of little concern, though havent heard that from the paed yet. Fingers crossed!! Thanks for reading thus far and if you want to donate your spare change to a good cause, I have a heartkids donation box at work. Thank you. Allison See more
