12.01.2022 It is with deep regret that we are announcing the cancellation of Bowen River Rodeo & Campdraft & Jnr Bush sports 2021 we have come to the collective decision in compliance with the current government legislation regarding the current pandemic COVID-19 to cancel the event that was to be held on the 11th - 13th of June 2021. We would like to thank our sponsors and supporters for their continued support. Safe travels and looking forward to seeing you all at Bowen River next year.

12.01.2022 BOWEN RIVER CAMPDRAFT AND RODEO Cowboys and cowgirls of all ages have turned out for day one of the Bowen River Campdraft and Rodeo. More than 3,000 people ar...e expected to flock to the event on the banks for the Bowen river. Competitors have travelled from as far as a Victoria for the number one event on Collinsville’s calendar. Cold weather certainly hasn’t kept the crowds away. Action will continue tomorrow when the rodeo events get underway from 9am. What are you up to this weekend?

We would like to thank all our Sponsors for their generous donations they won’t go to waste we wil...l be back next year big and better !, we would also like to thank all of the competitors and spectators that support our event each and every year. 08.01.2022 The Australian Campdraft Association (ACA) advise the cessation of all campdraft events, nationwide, until further notice. This decision was handed down by the ...National Campdraft Council of Australia (NCCA) and includes the CQ Campdraft ACA National Finals that were planned to be held in Nebo next month. ACA supports NCCA’s direction, and are of the belief that it would be irresponsible to condone activities that may or may not contravene the public health directive. Campdrafting, as with many other sports, is non-essential. Furthermore, campdrafting is held in remote areas, but draws competitors and attendees from very broad geographic locations. Whilst we are aware that the Federal Government has directed event organisers to cease any events where over 500 people are expected to attend, ACA supports NCCA’s cessation of all campdrafts, regardless of size. In doing so, ACA have considered the already limited resources available to our regional health care centres and the originating population from which competitors & attendees are drawn. ACA consider that continuing to operate in light of these factors would be inconsiderate, and disregarding the best medical & government advice available. This decision will be reviewed at the 1 May 2020, with further information to be released after this date.

03.01.2022 Thanks to Country Trucker Caps For our new Bowen River Caps. Our Bowen River Rodeo, Campdraft & Junuor Bush Sports Caps are available for purchase at $25 per cap. If you would like to purchase a cap please inbox the page. Please note that there will be a $10 postage fee if we can’t get the caps to a location for your collection.

01.01.2022 Please understand that we are a small committee trying to hold our annual event. We know that this is a disappointment to people who love and support Bowen River. Other sporting events that are still able to run would probably have different covid regulations to adhere to. With Bowen River being a 3 day weekend with camping and multiple events throughout the weekend, which produces a large number of people from all over we come under a set of different regulations and related... expenses. A committee that would run a 1 sporting event with or without camping and a lesser number of people or a Major 1 day sporting event would come under different guidelines. Given that we are in a small community we just don't have the man power to ensure that our community is safe from Covid while these requirements set by government can be up held. Please be assured that our committee has done it's utmost in seeking advice from local government and various government bodies. We thank you for your understanding in these hard times and we look forward to everyone being able to get back on track for next year. See more
