24.01.2022 Do you agree? The bodily sensations of stress can feel like an emergency. This is an appropriate response in the face of danger, but if this response is activat...ed too regularly in day-to-day life, the body can't let down and relax effectively. Bowen therapy works with the entire body to restore balance via the autonomic nervous system (ANS), by enabling the shift from sympathetic dominance (fight, flight or freeze mode) to parasympathetic dominance (rest, digest, relax & repair mode.) 21.01.2022 This is good news for all the ones who can't sit still for too long and for most kids. A new study shows fidgeting is good and even recommended. :-)

21.01.2022 The TMJ (Temporo Mandibubar Joint) plays a major role for the balance and emotional well being of the body. If it is out of alignment it can cause jaw pain (reduced movement, clicking) , neck pain, headaches, migraines and ear pain. TMJ adjustment is one of several specialised moves I offer in my Bowen Therapy treatments.

21.01.2022 You can now claim your bowen treatment on private health insurance.

21.01.2022 What is Bowentherapy and how does it work? Bowen is a holistic remedial soft tissue therapy and works on the fascia of the body, which is the biological fabric that holds us together. It is like a big 3D spider web of fibrous, gluey and wet proteins that hold our body together and muscles, ligaments and bones in their proper place. A healthy fascia is crucial for our stability and movement, our performance, central in recovery from injury and disability. Each Bowen move is... done at the level of superficial fascia, working over nerves, muscle, ligaments, tendons and bones and affects the relationship between the fascia and the nerve, muscle or nerve being mobilized. Muscle co-ordintion, postural alignment can be negatively affected if the fascia stiffens, contract, torques or dehydrates. Very often after or during a session adhesions loosen up, scar tissue softens and posture and mobility improve. And in general people feel relaxed, have a better sleep that night and are happier. 18.01.2022 Bowentherapy is great for sore necks, migraines and shoulder issues. A main reason for a lot of our problems is the way we live this days. Computer work, sitting down the whole day and texting is a major part of our life and our neck does not like it. Next time you text make sure you hold your phone up- on eye level and set your screen on eye level too. Posture a big one to watch in our daily lives!

Bowen balances the autonomic nervous system and releases stress on a very deep level. Most people feel very relaxed, energised and sleep well after a treatment.

15.01.2022 The connection between Body and Mind - here is an interesting article about how our feelings can affect the gut and how relaxation techniques like Bowen can help. Bowen can help with ITB and other digestive problems and as a side effect assist in releasing blocked qi energy as in acupuncture.

14.01.2022 Hormonal Release - The Bowen Way Hormonal release the Bowen way is used for addressing symptoms like: - hormonal imbalance -menopause, hot flushes, mood swings... - period pain - infertility - enlarged prostate - pregnancy and birth - bladder control. Bowen Hormonal release is a series of procedures for re-balancing aspects of the reproductive and neurological system for men and women. It is based on the cross fibre technique created by the late Tom Bowen and further developed by Trevor Rose, a Physio and Bowen Therapist. His wife got diagnosed with breast cancer. As part of her treatment her body rejected the drug tamoxifin and together with her gynaecologist and cancer surgeon he developed a treatment to stimulate hormones. This treatment was very successful for his wife and led him to developed other treatment moves for varying conditions. He continued to work with other local practitioners and expanded the technique to include procedures for a variety of hormonal based issues and has been very successful. I have been lucky to learn this procedures last year in a course with Linda Harris and have been amazed how this treatment has improved the problems and issues of my clients. For an appointment please call me on 0438942074

08.01.2022 How Bowen therapy can kick-start new goals this spring, via The Southern Reporter: "'Our bodies, as well as our minds, can manifest unhealthy patterns,' says Bowen Technique practitioner Mary Macfarlane. 'Bodies are very good at protecting an area of pain by holding on to compensatory patterns' ... Bowen Technique 'moves' do not attempt to force the body to change; rather they stimulate the body into recognising that the old pattern is no longer appropriate and 'asks' for the changes that are necessary to bring it back to homoeostasis or physiological equilibrium. Once we decide there is a need for change, old body patterns can be replaced with new, healthy better functioning patterns."

08.01.2022 Fibromyalgia is a chronicle health condition which affects between six to nine percent of the population. It is characterised by chronic pain throughout the body, weakness and fatigue.People with Fibromyalgia are often treated with allopathic medication. New studies have shown that the Bowen Technique can give relief with the chronic, all over pain and the fatigue. Patients also feel their balance has improved, they are less fatigue and sleep better after the treatment. As a soft tissue therapy, working on the fascia of the body the bowen move causes the muscle to relax and releases any nerves that have been under pressure and relief pain.

03.01.2022 Fitness ability is dependant on healthy fascia. It is great to know that world class athlete's and their coaches know this and are open to Bowen Therapy. I have been lucky to treat Caitlin Leverenz and Noriko Inada from the United States during their training in Margaret River and they are happy for me to share their testimonials: "Andrea really helped me trash at my month training trip in Margaret River. Her Bowen therapy helped me a lot with my breathing and overall recover...y. The next time I am back in WA I will definitely be paying her a visit. She really knows what she is doing with the body, and I have lots of experience with others in all type of body work so i don't say that lightly." Caitlin Leverenz, 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist for the USA "I like her BowenTherapy, very interesting for me. My body becomes so good." Noriko Inada, former Japanese Olympian

02.01.2022 "The Bowen Technique is perhaps one of the single most important tools we have to help heal the body. The moves produce good results by penetrating to a deep cellular level making use of the body’s own ability to heal itself. Moves begin to achieve holistic balance straight away, embracing the client’s physical and emotional aspects."
