23.01.2022 THE IMPORTANCE OF THE A FEW MINUTE BREAK BETWEEN PROCEDURE MOVES This element of allowing the body to rest for a few minutes initiates the process of repair and is important. The length of the breaks will vary with different procedures. The breaks are probably one of the least understood parts of Bowen and yet it is during the breaks that the work starts to take effect and changes are implemented. The most fundamental principle of Bowen is that it is the client that is doing ...the work, not the therapist. The client will also often report that they feel a tingling sensation or warmth in the area just worked on. However, the reactions to Bowen in the days following a treatment can be stiffness, soreness, headache and feeling like I’ve been run over by a bus! are common, demonstrating that the brain and body have started the process of repair. This process, when started, is generally rapid and it is not uncommon for even longstanding pain to be reduced or resolved in two or three treatments. See more
23.01.2022 Bowen Therapy Procedure consists of small moves and varying pressures on a specific site on the body. During the Therapy Session, practitioner may leave the room for periods of 2 - 15 minutes depending of the movement being performed. which allows the body to respond to the treatment, which allows the next sequence of moves. Your Therapist may advise you to not have any other forms of physical therapy or manipulation for 1 week after to allow the body to adjust to the Bowen treatment. Bowen Therapy is a stand alone treatment.

12.01.2022 Treating the cause rather than the symptoms . Bowen Therapy has consistently shown it can have profound and permanent healing and pain relief outcomes. Bowen Therapy treats the whole body, holistically for pain relief and healing through specific soft tissue or fascial release. Fascia is a specific type of connective tissue that forms a three dimensional web surrounding every tissue in the body. Fascia is the body organiser embracing all nerves, bones, arteries, veins and muscles. Therefore fascial dysfunction can affect every structure, muscle, nerve and organ in the body. Bowen Therapy technique involves challenging the muscle, stimulate specific receptors that enable the body itself to correct dysfunctions and restore balance on a holistic level.
