25.01.2022 We did not fare well over the last few days!!

25.01.2022 This weekend we had a fundraising wood raffle. Thank you to everyone who supported us by buying a ticket or three It was drawn at our Sports Complex at happy hour this afternoon by our new Licensee Sharron Saunders. The lucky winner was Maree Hodgetts who kindly donated this load of firewood to the Scamander Sports Complex....what a great gesture!!

23.01.2022 We are back rolling up outdoors. Chicken run every Thursday 1.30pm start. All welcome

23.01.2022 Some action from the grand final of the East Coast Championship Pairs. Ian Johnston (St Mary's) teamed up with Bill Hodgetts (Swansea...Runner-ups) taking on husband and wife team Mel & Shane Golder (Swansea....winners). It was anyone's game right to the last end. Congratulations to all who competed and supported our East Coast Championship...so many entries this year we had to have overflow sectional play at St Mary's Bowls club on the first day, so a big thank you to our friends at St Mary's for your support also.

23.01.2022 This evening we celebrated a fantastic year of bowling with friends and supporters of our club at our Annual Dinner. Great dining at Scamander Sports Complex, presentations and laughs made for a memorable night. Our club also celebrated its 30th Anniversary with four of our foundation members present to cut the cake (Life Member & Patrons David & Julie Llewellyn and Annette & Barry Halton) and reflect on the clubs past achievements. We think we are doing great after 30 years!!

22.01.2022 Notice of Annual General Meeting AGM to be held at Scamander Sports Complex Sunday 13th May at 2pm Nomination forms on the noticeboard.

22.01.2022 Our Club's decision to close it's rink and halt clubhouse activities early on was founded on the belief that we had a legal responsibility to the safety of our members. This precaution was well founded. Stay safe everyone and see you when Covid-19 will be a memory

22.01.2022 Will you be there?

22.01.2022 Its that time of year when we gather for our annual dinner and trophy presentations. This evening we welcomed our longstanding Patrons David & Julie Llewellyn, the lovely Tania Rattray MLC club sponsor, life members, partners and players, and some lovely guests. Its a time for reflection and remembering everyone who has contributed to a great season of playing and also socialising . Greenkeeper Vern Hodgetts who put in a stellar effort on our green this season which rated... highly by his peers for its great condition (not bad for a first timer) The sudden loss this year of club stalwart, Maurice Hill, an 18 year veteran as secretary with our club, roles with East Coast Bowls Association, and as Scamander Sports Complex President for many years was also acknowledged. He will always be remembered for his steadfast commitment to bowls, and this was commemorated with a minutes silence. The lack of a bottle this year of his favourite red to share on the table was also mentioned by many. The evening moved to presentations and I will post photos soon. I also have to mention the superb meal that new Scamander Complex Chef Rod and team prepared this evening. Thank you Rod it was amazing and could not fault it & we wish you all the best in your new role. You are a great asset to Scamander Sports Complex. Bar attendant Jemma also greeted us with a smile and great service this evening, it was also much appreciated. AGM will be arranged soon. See more
