19.01.2022 Last of the spray water on our west block. Both the other farms are near the bottom of their last remaining Dam. We finished seeding last season with the last of the water that we had pumped into our tanks. We began scooping silt out of Dams last may and only finished at the end of February. Most of these Dams are yet to catch any water. On the plus side we’ve have a little bit more sub soil moisture than last year. So far this year we have had 87 mm compared to last year of 29. This compares to an average of 140.Didn’t really help being 32 degrees here today. Fingers crossed things turn around very soon.
17.01.2022 A few crop updates over the last month! Between 20-30mm of rain over the last month has kept things looking healthy.
16.01.2022 Starting to tick along nicely now it has had a bit of a drink.
16.01.2022 Harvesting got underway this week. Finished the peas but only managed a couple of sample runs in the canola before getting held up with a bit of rain.
15.01.2022 From dust to filling up with rain spots. Cmon rain, send it down!

13.01.2022 Harvest cut out 2019. Lunch at Woody Island. One of the quickest harvests for sometime. Great opportunity to explore this beautiful part of the world. Thanks everyone for the great job they’ve done. Be good to put this year behind us and look forward to next year.
13.01.2022 Some wheat emerging nicely. Sowed with the new Morris Quantum bar.
09.01.2022 Canola seeding underway. Still very dry. Very little water remaining in Dams. Stone roller has done a great job in renovating an old quarry.
06.01.2022 The Top photo was taken today. The photo below was taken at the same spot on the 16th of June. Two different seeding bars one at 25 mm the one on the right at 80mm in a very dry start.
06.01.2022 1st paddock done. Bring it on
06.01.2022 Not really sure I like seeing red sunsets this time of year.
05.01.2022 20 mm of rain over the last 10 days has been the best rainfall event we have received since the start of seeding. This has allowed us to reseed a few areas that had poor germination and areas that have been a bit wind blown.
05.01.2022 The crops have bounced back well given the dry start from good rain in July. Unfortunately these crops only received 5 mm from the recent deluge on most of the south coast . But we have picked up another 13 over the last week.
03.01.2022 This new machine turned up today from the outside world. A welcome distraction in this isolation. Be good to see it in action after Easter.
03.01.2022 Last day lunch! I can see the finish line. Woohoo!
02.01.2022 A favourite harvest dinner delivered last night. Homemade seafood chowder and a crusty baguette.
02.01.2022 Few crop updates since the start of seeding. 21mm of rain in the last 10 days has helped them along a bit
01.01.2022 This is a bit handy! Ash taugh Tilly a new trick so he doesn't have to lift her up each time. The 18-month-old border collie looks pretty pleased with herself! : Ash Bowman, on his farm in Grass Patch, WA.
