23.01.2022 Nice ginger boar going to Mudgee and a Damara Ram going to Dubbo

22.01.2022 3 mounts I finished last week, heavy red stag from Nundle region, small red from WillowTree and 37 inch billy from northern NSW

20.01.2022 For those who aren’t aware that deer species can sometimes cross breed, here is the product of a sambar stag over Rusa hind, often called a Rubar they show characteristics of both animals. The other mount is a very nice 12 point local red stag from the mountains here

15.01.2022 Every now and then we get asked to mount a domestic steer or bull, this 22yr old bull came from out near Dubbo NSW, not quite sure what breed but he obviously meant a lot to the farmers, we were given good photos of him to work from and largely hand carved the face on this manikin to match the shape and character of the old boy. Challenging but satisfying when you get it right

15.01.2022 Caping course sat March 2nd, all places are filled so thanks to all the hunters coming next sat to Calibre Country in Tamworth. Looks like it may be hot on the day so please bring suitable sun safe clothing and if anyone has shade awnings and chairs feel free to bring them on the day. Leanne will give each participant a wrist band once paid, food and drinks available aswell. Anyone wanting to film the proceedings is also welcome, so we look forward to meeting everyone on the day. See you at about 9.30 for 10am start

13.01.2022 Caping course update, for all those who are attending our course at Calibre Country on sat the 2nd march, we want to confirm that there are toilets there and bbq lunch and drinks will be available aswell. If you want to bring a chair it may be a good idea and if it’s hot on the day then appropriate suncare etc needed as we may not be able to be fully shaded. Looks like as many as 30 are coming along so we will limit the total to 40 so everyone gets close enough to see everything going on. Looking forward to meeting everyone on the day and having a chat

11.01.2022 Two awesome bush red stags from Nundle region, Leanne mounted the open mouth roaring, a heavy antlered stag with thick mane. I did the huge 14 with extra large body mass, this stag is way bigger than the majority of the red deer we get each season

11.01.2022 Large mountain boars dont get much better than this in the tusk department, with a live weight of around 115kg he was a brute. Another 14point red stag from the mountains aswell

10.01.2022 A variety of mounts i finished last week. A 41 inch billy from Rydal, a beautiful bull tahr, a chital stag from north QLD and a wall pedestal fallow deer

07.01.2022 Two Japanese sika deer from NZ I finished off this week and a boar, those sika deer are unlike any of the species we have here, very thick fur and about the size of a fallow deer it’s a shame we don’t have them here I say

06.01.2022 Just some of the mounts ive finished lately

01.01.2022 This commissioned piece is for the Local Land Services north west region, the wild dog was shot in the mountains near Merriwa and tanned by Steve Pask. I mounted it on an ATS form by Sanzo. Apart from shaving a bit out of the shoulder it was a perfect fit. Dark brown eyes would have been my pick for this dog but they want the public to see it as more feral or wild so as not to confuse it with a domestic dog i guess. We have 2 more full mounts to do yet for them that are more complicated than this dog who will be on show at Agquip in Gunnedah in August on their DPI display

01.01.2022 This is one of my favourite boar mounts. Not just because of its size but the custom made form I sculpted for it. A large mountain boar from Mudgee this warrior must have roamed those mountains for years before Luke’s dogs caught up with him
