23.01.2022 Dress up Disco!!! Reward for Positive Behaviour for Learning! On Thursday we are holding a reward disco for students. They have made a fantastic return to school this term and are following our school expectations. ... Students may come to school dressed as their favourite Book/movie/Halloween character. Halloween is this coming weekend and is the theme but students can dress in any costume they like The disco is also a P&C fundraiser and there will be glow sticks and jewellery available for students to purchase, so students may bring some money to spend. 17.01.2022 On Friday, Bowning students enjoyed a virtual tour of the Power House Museum’s ‘Caring for Country’ exhibit. The exhibit portrayed many different ways that the Aboriginal people of Australia have cared for ‘Country’ over the past 60 000 years. We learned about the importance of being connected to country, respecting the land, plants and animals, sustainability of the land that we live on and how elders pass this knowledge on to the younger generations. Students came away from the tour with many questions and wonderings about Aboriginal Culture and excited to explore it further. A truly enlightening and interesting experience that links directly with our Science units based around sustainability and recycling.

17.01.2022 BREAKFAST CLUB A huge shout-out to our wonderful educators, parents and Woolworths for their Breakfast Club donations. For the past three and a half years Woolworths have been generously donating a fortnightly box of fruit for our students to promote healthy eating. This term, educators and parents decided to add to the healthy eating by providing our school with donations of bread, milk, butter, Vegemite and Milo, so that students get a more substantial start to... their day. ‘Eating a healthy breakfast before starting the school day is linked to improved concentration, better test scores, increased energy, a higher intake of vitamins and minerals, and a healthier body weight. Breakfast is especially important for young students whose brains use up about half of the body’s energy.’ (SFGATE) Students are really enjoying beginning their school day eating toast and fruit while listening to a story read to them by the class teacher. The game is an independent literacy activity involving speaking, listening, problem solving, cooperation, resilience and most of all... fun! We love seeing our students enjoying their learning and experiencing success
