18.01.2022 This message really made my day ... Hi Amanda! Master O was very settled and happy after his session yesterday. When he got home, he went straight onto the computer to complete his school assignment and then did some extra homework. He was very motivated. Thanks for all your effort to support his learning. It was wonderful to have him match your positive mindset.

16.01.2022 I use a range of decodable readers, including those from the Little Learners Love Literacy series. These are great books to read at home with your child and are even available as Apps. Take a look at this helpful checklist and video.

12.01.2022 Another SPELD NSW webinar, this time for Kindy and Year 1 parents. A range of resources will be introduced to allow you to support your child's reading and spelling at home.

12.01.2022 Inaugural youth poet laureate, Amanda Gorman, has speech and auditory processing issues. As her mother says ... 'Every child has a gift, it just has to be discovered.'

11.01.2022 Pause and take time to notice the small things. This comes from a mum whose 'little boy' is all grown up and on his UK gap year.

10.01.2022 As part of Dyslexia Awareness Month, Code REaD together with Microsoft are running two free webinars. The first webinar, Dyslexia Myths & Facts is being presented by Lyn Stone. This is a webinar for parents and educators who wish to know more about dyslexia, what it is, what isn't and what to do if dyslexia is suspected.

09.01.2022 Happy birthday to Rosie - the most popular member of the Bowral Tutoring team.

08.01.2022 As a SPELD Specialist Tutor, I highly recommend their parent webinar workshops. The first one, 'Supporting reading at Home', is this Wednesday. Sessions are also recorded for later viewing.

08.01.2022 I’ve been using the Phonics Screening Check for years. Good to see it’s now available in NSW schools. Long overdue.

07.01.2022 "This is the child. The one we say is too loud, too quiet, too distracted, too active, too shy, too stubborn, too immature, too disruptive, too slow...just, too difficult. But I can assure you this child doesn’t want to be a problem."

05.01.2022 Love our local libraries! From decodable books to eBooks and audiobooks. Take a visit these holidays.
