22.01.2022 Many of us without realising, go for high energy foods because they’re filling. Calories = energy. High energy foods takeaway and empty calorie sweet foods ...= weight gain. Fruit and vegetables which have a high nutritional value, lots of greens have a high nutritional value and are low in calories. Some vegetables and fruit though might have high sugar content like corn which is higher in calories due to higher natural sugar content. Moderation is the key ! Something to think about. #fewercalories #freshproduce #boxdivvy #rhodesllewellynhub See more

18.01.2022 Our red capsicums this week are small and sweet, with an equally sweet price of $3.26/kg. The supermarkets with their strict 'cosmetic' standards would likely ...reject these due to their small size. It's hard to believe that up to 40% of Australian produce is rejected by supermarkets every year destined for landfill! In a recent article half of Aussie consumers said they are not happy with supermarkets using so much plastic packaging and disposing of imperfect fresh produce. ? But here at Box Divvy it’s about supporting the farmers no matter what the size, shape or skin finish of their produce. We treat it as all REAL produce. Real fruit and vegetables are not always the same size, shape or colour, but it’s all fresh and delicious food. The thing is, there are ways to help our farmers, our community, our planet and also our pockets. Box Divvy is on average half the price of supermarkets produce and we have little to no packaging! - and join your local Box Divvy Hub? #boxdivvybluegum #capsicum #supportlocal #zerowaste

17.01.2022 Why is Box Divvy amazing?

16.01.2022 Since doing this comparison 2 days ago, Box Divvy cucumbers have dropped in price! Kim and Laks Ung in Kemps Creek checked out their vines, and thanks to the wa...rm weather over the past week, they will be picking several tonnes of cucumbers. That's 200-300 boxes. And priced accordingly at just $2/kg. Only at Box Divvy! #boxdivvy #northturramurra #turramurra #stives #cucumbers #localfarmers #eatfresh #eathealthy

11.01.2022 Our focus for this week's order is herbs, which also includes garlic, onion, chilli etc. Most weeks, there are a couple of herbs suggested in splits, but they d...on't often get through. The reason for focussing on particular product groups each week is to help out the members who use them often but rarely get them in splits. Herbs are a great way to add extra flavour to your meals in a healthy and natural way. How to store herbs: *In a glass of water in the fridge *Wrap in damp paper towel, and keep in plastic bag in fridge *freeze - loose, or in olive oil in ice cube trays *Dry - hang in bunches, upside down, in a warm, dry spot. Or spread on a baking tray and pop in a low oven. Ginger, chilli, tumeric etc can all be frozen. I keep mine in a ziplock bag. Just chop off the required amount when ready to use. So far in splits we have: Thyme, Rosemary, Rocket, Mint, Dill, Coriander, ginger and red and brown onions. Please share how you store herbs!

02.01.2022 Narraweena! This is what our first starting order looks like for a family of 4. Remember, you have until Sunday 9pm to opt out of up to 3 items and suggest and join in splits (extras) We have some interesting splits on the go at the moment- silverbeet, Roma tomatoes, free range eggs, herbs and bakery items... please check them all out and join in to help get them over the line. Delivery for this order will be next Tuesday.
