23.01.2022 Turmeric looks a little like ginger and has a warm, peppery and earthy in taste. It is also high in iron and manganese and main active ingredient is Curcumin, has shown to lower cholesterol. It also has antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally is acts as a natural liver detoxifier and can speed up metabolism. It can be used in many dishes and even tea. Turmeric is available at Box Divvy for order. 19.01.2022 Yesterday I had to buy some carrots at Colesworth. They were awful - dry, pale and cracked. So disappointing when you see what produce looks like when it’s fresh. Like these crispy, crunchy, bright orange babies from Biz Divvy....

18.01.2022 Pineapples galore!!! This hint of warm weather is getting me excited for summer....and pineapples

15.01.2022 Citrus, from Navel Oranges to Ruby Grapefruit is getting seriously cheap. Not only will it save you money citrus has many health benefits. Citrus will keep your immune system strong to protect against cold and flu, as well as a very good source of Vitamin C, D, E and K. Below is a table of recommended daily allowance of vitamin C in citrus.

14.01.2022 Brrrr....it was cold packing the broccoli this morning as it’s stored in ice so it’s fresh for you

13.01.2022 Back in early 13th century Italy, the mathematician Leonardo of Pisa discovered an interesting number sequence, where the next number in the sequence was the sum of the previous two. When you divide any number in the above sequence by the next it always equals 0.618. This is called the Fibonacci sequence and is found in all sorts of places like paintings and pictures through to shells trees, and the spirals of the Romanesco cauliflower grown by Steve Grima in Horsley Park!

13.01.2022 Broccolini has dropped below $2 a bunch ($3.49 at Harris farms) so we thought we should give everyone a recipe for Lemon and Garlic Broccolini. Cook broccolini in a large pan of boiling water for 2 mins Drain and add to a bowl of ice water Add 1 tbsp of olive oil to a large frying pan and heat over a medium setting. Add 1 clove of chopped garlic and the zest and juice of half a lemon... Drain the broccolini and then add the pan. Toss to coat in the oil mixture and cook for around 2 mins. Squeeze the lemon juice over the broccolini and toss. Season and serve immediately. #fresh #boxdivvy #unsupermarket #broccolini

11.01.2022 Passionfruit growers are urging retailers to slash passionfruit prices due to a recent glut (means that there is an excess of produce and exceeds demand) to overcome it. Box Divvy has dropped the price of passionfruit all the way down to 50 cents, so don’t hold back! #fresh #boxdivvy #unsupermarket

10.01.2022 Yummy, chunky first season asparagus. Did you know the best way to keep these beauties is to pop them upright in a container of water in the fridge....much like a bunch of flowers.

09.01.2022 I’ve been making kombucha for about 10 years now. My favourite flavour is lemon and strawberry....so I’m loving their great prices at the moment:)

06.01.2022 We love summer fruit, but so do pesky fruit flies. Try this handy trick so you don’t have to share... In a little container, mix 2 tbs apple cider vinegar, 1 tbs sugar, a few drops dishwashing liquid and 1/2 cup warm water. Stir until sugar dissolves. Pop near your fruit and watch as the little pests are trapped. We keep our fruit under mesh to double the protection! You can see how effective ours is!

06.01.2022 Great idea for those extras we sometimes end up with..

05.01.2022 We’re loving the fact that there’s a basil glut !!! Prices to drop below $3 a bunch. Best basil recipes please...

05.01.2022 To prevent the spread of COVID-19, we will be implementing the following standards as part of our weekly packing routine: -Washing hands thoroughly before packing fruit -Wiping down all packing surfaces before and after we pack -No more than 1 person collecting their box in the garage at any time... -All day collection We also recommend you wash your produce before consumption and please don’t touch other people’s boxes or cough/sneeze near any produce. Together we can get through this :)
