If you forget to suspend, your best option is to reduce your household size to 1, and remove 3 items. Or give your box to a friend! 25.01.2022 What to do with fussy kids who don't like to eat veggies? Hide them! This veggie lasagna is loaded with Box Divvy veggies including eggplant, carrot, broccoli, tomatoes and herbs. Mix in with some passata, garlic, onion and tomato paste. ... Layer with your fav lasagne sheets (I love these Vetta Smart ones for the extra fibre) and top with a delicious and easy white sauce (butter, flour, milk and Parmesan). I forgot to get a photo before serving up the kids, but it's delicious!! And KID-APPROVED (by one very fussy 2yo). #recipeideas #boxdivvy #foodhub #veggies
24.01.2022 What a week! So many beautiful, fresh orders ready to be collected by our hub members this week. We had one of our biggest orders in a while and it was packed full of summer stone fruits which are all coming into season and absolutely delicious. #boxdivvy #unsupermarket #foodhub #eatfresh #summerfruit #fruitandveg #healthyeating #healthylifestyle #eatwell #eatfresh #foodcoop #lakemacquarie #murraysbeach
24.01.2022 We love hearing the stories from our Farmers and this week it's Charlie Vella who's roped in his granddaughter to help on the farm. What a cutie! Charlie Vella’s son Jason grows zucchini flowers, and due to a labour shortage (no backpackers), he has asked his daughter Charlie to help pick... Ok, she’s only 3 years old, but very deft when it comes to picking these delicate flowers. In fact, she’s picking in such quantities that Grandpa Charlie has decided to take the tray pric...e down to $3.74. Family farms... Want to give Stuffed Zucchini Flowers a try? Here's how: https://www.taste.com.au//fc9f8e76-7742-4f5e-8bb7-2db92fde
24.01.2022 After months of being a very loyal Pink Lady hub, we got a box of Granny Smith's across the line this week and they are DELICIOUS! Amazing bright green, crisp little things that taste perfect chilled and straight from the fridge! And at $0.66 each (compared to $0.96 at Woolies!), there's no excuse not to have an apple or two a day! ... #boxdivvy #savemoney #value #freshfood #appleaday #farmfresh

23.01.2022 This week's orders are published! Who would like to split a box of Rhubarb? At $2.72 a bunch ($6 in Woolies and $5.50 in Coles) it's hard to say no. Farmer Steve Grima in Horsley Park can't pick it fast enough. ... With strawberries also great value, it might be a good week to make a Rhubarb and Strawberry Crumble! #boxdivvy #foodhub #eatwell #recipeinspo

23.01.2022 Beat value picks this week? Look out for zucchini, truss tomatoes and beetroot. Perfect for summer salads! Here's a peak at some of our beautiful produce from the last couple of weeks.... Don't forget orders close for our hub at 9pm tonight!
22.01.2022 Avocados are a firm favourite in our hub Start Order, and they're often delivered on the firmer side. Here's a tip to help them ripen up: AVOCADO... To ripen an avocado naturally pop it into a paper bag with an apple, pear or banana outside of the fridge and in 2 to 4 days it will be ripe. Or pop it on top of the apple bowl. When it is ripe put it into the fridge. Avos have been amazing value for months with Box Divvy at under $2 each. (Compare that to $3 at Woolies and Coles). #boxdivvy #unsupermarket #eatfresh #avocado #savemoney
22.01.2022 How good do these look! And with all those Tangelos, oranges and blood oranges we'd be making a delicious version here in Murrays Beach!
22.01.2022 This week's news in the world of fruit! The apple & pear season is gathering pace: we have new season Granny Smith, Royal Gala apples from Orange at just $2.53/Kg, and new season Packham pears are improving our fruit choices Another new season offering: local Pomegranates still small, but full of juice and super-sweet. Just $1.47 each. Of course, you can always get them from Harris Farm at $8 a pop... Melons are still incredible value, citrus is still plentiful - but berries have tightened up and won’t be so cheap for the next few weeks Figs have finished (we think we got out whilst still on top), and now that Packhams have started, we’ve given Williams the flick as they simply can’t compete on flavour or value and will finish up in any case in the next few weeks. #boxdivvy #shoplocal #eatfresh #supportlocal #supportfarmers #shopsmall #freshproduce #fruitbox #fooddelivery #unsupermarket
21.01.2022 Have you seen R2E2 mangoes in the marketplace? These are a new option available through Box Divvy! They have lemon-yellow flesh which has a sweet, mild flavour and deep orange skin tinged with an orange-red blush, and are a mid-season variety. What’s in a name? R2E2 sounds like a name Einstein could have come up with, but in actual fact it means Row 2 Experiment 2. (Did you know that WD40 stands for Water Displacement, attempt number 40?). ... When do I eat the R2E2? Make sure they are ripe probably in another 2-4 days, or even longer: their shelf life is better than Kensington Pride, which is why they are widely exported.
21.01.2022 **NEW ORDERING TIMELINE** From this week! 9pm Thursday - finalise wishlist, opt out if you need to... 10ish Friday - Start Order published and Splits open All weekend - start, join, adjust Splits! 9pm Sunday - Splits finalised, orders closed 3-5pm Tuesday - pick up window! 21.01.2022 Here's our fruity market update for the week: Apple season is starting to run out of steam... and after last years's drought and bushfires it's a little tougher than usual. The reduced supply will mean prices creep up from here.... The good news is pear season shows no signs of slowing down! Packhams and Nashi pears remain great value Tropical fruit is a mixed bag! Bananas and large pineapples are great value. We're patiently waiting for the mangoes to come down in price. Blueberries are a little more expensive but strawberries continue to be plentiful. What a great season they've had! Stone fruits: reports from several growers both north of Sydney and in southern NSW suggest this is going to be a strong season in terms of picking volumes. On top of that, exports are expected to decline because of Covid-19 and high airfreight cost, so the domestic supply should be ample. This is not good news for growers who are trying to recover from last year’s bad season, but you can do your bit by buying A LOT of peaches and nectarines once the season gets on its way. Don't forget orders close at 9pm tonight so add some of these great value picks to your splits! #boxdivvy #eatfresh #fruit #foodhub
20.01.2022 If you've not yet tried Belicious Tomato Relish yet, it comes HIGHLY recommended! Tastes just like a beautiful home made chutney Plus check out that minimal ingredient list! No preservatives in sight! #boxdivvy... #belicious See more
19.01.2022 Want to pack some veggie power into your box this week? Here's where you'll find the best value! Victorian asparagus are down to $1.45 a bunch, and crisp as chips. But healthier.... Beans, snow peas and sugarsnap pea prices continue to be near the season’s low Charlie Vella in Freemans Reach still can’t get over how grow-some this season is: he will be picking record quantities of celery ($1.81), cauliflowers ($2.34), kale, silverbeet and zucchini flowers. Give it another week and he’ll be picking zucchini as well The Grima’s in Horsley Park will be bringing in loads of Dutch carrots decent bunches for just $2 Simon Chong is predicting a big drop in shallot prices, from over $2 a bunch last week to $1.70 and probably lower over the coming week or so. Broccoli shoots - find under Broccoli regular. They are popping out all over the place so Gerard Saad in Wilberforce will be cutting these this week for $2.50/kg Also, he will have green cabbages at half the price of supermarkets at $1.81 each. What veggie loaded recipes are you cooking this week? Share below! #boxdivvy #vegetables #foodhub #shoplocal #supportfarmers

17.01.2022 We're excited to have Shephard avocados back in our boxes this week in both our start order and our splits. And at $1.84 there's no excuse not to be loading up on these good fats. 11.01.2022 With these scorching temps it's the perfect weather for a summer salad. Here's a fresh Bok Choi Salad great for a warm evening: Bok Choi Salad 1 medium head bok choi, diced 2-3 shallots, chopped... 85gm package ramen noodles (soup packed style noodles but not use savoury flavourings) 1/2 cup blanched slivered almonds 2 tbs sesame seeds, toasted 1/3 cup olive oil 3 tsp lemon juice Combine bok choi and shallots; cover and refrigerate. Mix the olive oil, lemon juice and ramen noodle seasoning packet. Chill. Break ramen noodles into small pieces; combine with toasted almonds and sesame seeds. Before serving, combine the cabbage mixture and noodle mixture. Add dressing and toss to coat. Consider adding a few dashes of soy sauce in the dressing for added Asian flavour. Now hop to it and add the Bok Choi and Shallots to this week's splits!
10.01.2022 With most of the east-coast between Wollongong and Brisbane getting 300-500mm of rain since Wednesday, it's had an impact on our growers and supplies. Any local grower in the Nepean and Hawkesbury catchment has basically been wiped out. Gerard Saad’s property in Wilberforce is under 2m of water and he’s lost 100% of his broccoli, corn and potatoes. He will have no crop for 3 months, so that’s big bit . Likewise, Raymond Camilleri in Freemans Reach is under water but h...e’s managed to salvage some eggplant and capsicum on his Castlereagh block Many smaller growers have either been unable to pick, or they’re flooded in and won’t be able to get to the market tomorrow. This is likely to impact on cucumbers, zucchini, beetroot and lettuces Many leafy greens herbs, Asian greens, kale, and especially English spinach, Chinese broccoli, dill and rocket have been affected and if the quality is poor, we may not get any. Box Divvy are currently considering how we can help our wonderful farmers get through this challenging time - stay tuned!

04.01.2022 Cherries! Must be getting close to summer... Yum: the local cherry season has started, and with apples and pears on their last seasonal legs (and mangoes suffering shortages), they’ve timed their entry pretty well! There was a time when most cherries came from Young, but to spread the risk of weather events cherries don’t like rain, and hail even less so orchards were established in Orange and Griffiths.... And this week’s supply is in fact coming from Big Red farm in Griffith. They’re still a tad expensive, but if they don’t get too much rain, they will halve in price by the middle of November. That could be a big 'If' though, with La Nina causing weather patterns to turn wetter and cooler...but we remain eternally optimistic!
04.01.2022 A note to all our wonderful hub members, here are the Christmas closures for Box Divvy. #4weekstillchristmas
04.01.2022 We inlcuded carrots in our Start Order this week and I had forgotten how generous the boxes are with extras! What are some of your favourite carrot recipes?
03.01.2022 Here's what's fresh this week from Box Divvy. - Asparagus are ON for this week, and they’re going to be better than some of the ones we had last week. Still under $3 a bunch. Our hub 'd ordering these last week for the first time! - Rockmelons are back: they eat well and will be around $2.50 each for small to medium-sized fruit. How good!... - Red capsicums are expected to spike a little for the next few weeks: work on $4.50/kg (still half price compared with Woolies) Mushroom supply has improved, and prices should ease to around $13/kg - Lebanese cucumbers have eased back further: expect to pay no more than $4.30/Kg and they will be glamour - Finally, leeks have been creeping up in price but we’ve managed to source some local supply from Sam and Steve Grima in Horsley Park. They will have less white stalk than the ones we usually get, but they end up being way better value at around $1.40 each Start Order is now published so let's start splitting those boxes! Happy shopping :)
03.01.2022 A rainbow bowl of Box Divvy goodness with some delicious salmon on top. Even the rice on the bottom is a Box Divvy pantry item! All fresh produce from our hub order this week. #eattherainbow... #boxdivvy #eatfresh #yum #pokebowls See more
02.01.2022 ***Meat and Seafood Update**** Wow, 85 meat and seafood (and Monjay Mezza) boxes were sold across the 5 trial hubs! Early feedback suggested it took a fair amount of effort to get them across the line (the minimum hub order was $500), but in the end all hubs got there by quite a margin. We are now collating feedback from the Hubsters to find out what worked well and where we can improve things.... This will help all hubs once we start rolling this out. The second part of the trial the actual delivery and member feedback is equally critical, so stay tuned! Sooooo excited to hopefully be bringing this amazing quality meat and seafood to Murrays Beach in time for Christmas feasting!
02.01.2022 This week, we are selling the most amazing strawberries from DM Jennings in Cygnet, Tasmania. Like many farmers, they are desperately short of farm labour and as conditions have been perfect for strawberries, there’s tonnes of them. So all hands have been sent into the fields to pick, and no-one is left at the packing shed to sort and grade by size. ... "No worries, we said: We’ll have ANY size and shape, so long as they taste great. To make the packing easier, they put them in 500g jumbo punnets. And get this: we can sell these beauties for $2.50 per punnet. Yes you heard that right, a half kilo pack for $2.50. And as they’re grown in a relatively cool climate, they’re sweet and they’ll last. For that price, you can buy 2 punnets: 1 to eat and 1 for jam! Have your cake and eat it too
