25.01.2022 A bit of inspiration. Marinated beetroot with green beans.
25.01.2022 Variety is the spice of life and healthy guts. Research suggests that people who eat at least 30 different plant-based foods each week have more varied gut bacteria, and ultimately a healthier gut microbiome as a result. Mixing up the plant foods we eat exposes the body to different mixes of dietary fibre and key nutrients, which in turn plays a key role in maximising the types and quality of bacteria in the gut. Thirty different plant-based foods per week sounds like a lot, but it’s actually not that hard when you consider it includes grains, seeds, fruit, vegetables, nuts, dried beans and legumes. And the low Box Divvy prices keep it affordable!
24.01.2022 Have just heard from our basil supplier: he’s expecting a bit of a glut over the coming week expect prices to drop below $3 a bunch. Basil pesto anyone?
24.01.2022 Need recipe inspiration for kiwis? Would you eat this?
19.01.2022 NEW - Mango! Yes, the Darwin mango season has started. In fact, we’ve seen mangoes in small numbers for several weeks now, but wanted them to sweeten up before adding them to the list. Sooo, are they sweet? Thumbs up! At $4.50, they’re still a little pricey, but definitely worth it!
16.01.2022 Yum! Roasted whole cauliflower with chilli flakes and turmeric.
15.01.2022 We all know that fresh fruit and vegetables are good for us but this shows you why.
15.01.2022 Strawberries are a must-have this week, now that they’ve come down to $2.50 a punnet. The conditions in the main growing areas Caboolture, Bundaberg, Gympie and the Sunshine Coast are perfect: day-time temperatures in the mid-20’s, followed by cool nights to make sure they don’t ripen too quickly. That way, they maximise the amount of natural sugars they develop. By the way, the amount of land in Queensland dedicated to strawberry growing would more than cover the Sydney CBD!
15.01.2022 Red delicious apple printing. Fruit has many uses!
14.01.2022 Looks delicious. Thanks for the idea BD Narraweena.
14.01.2022 Even through my mask these smell amazing!

11.01.2022 This you have to see! Woolies $6.16/Kg Box Divvy $1.59/kg. And....we still pay our farmers fairly.
11.01.2022 Belicious sample is back (limited supply) Chef Bel has rebuilt her stock of spice mix and mini sauce bottles. The piri piri and other sauces now come in a larger bottle, so the sample contains 4 randomly selected items rather than 5. That said, last time it sold out within a week so grab them whilst they’re available.
11.01.2022 Roast Brussels with onion and garlic. Smells amazing in the house.
08.01.2022 How cute do these look!?
08.01.2022 All the lovely summer fruits are coming.
07.01.2022 Thanks for the laughs!
07.01.2022 Blood oranges- are wonderfully sweet and slightly spicy, with hints of Cassis and berries. Imagine an orange that tastes of raspberry. It’s still early in the season, so they’re not yet fully red but have plenty of flavour. Blood oranges are the best winter antidote with vitamin C and a powerful antioxidant. The jewel-like colour of blood oranges segments in a salad of watercress is memorable. Throw in a handful of toasted walnuts and toss in a French dressing (Dijon mustard mixed with three parts olive oil to one part blood orange juice with salt and pepper to taste). Another idea is to combine them with beetroot and cucumber into a lively winter/spring salad.
07.01.2022 Baby leeks: not-so-baby after all. Plenty of white stem, and a bunch of 3 is just $2. Potato & leek soup, or leek & chicken pie? Because they are not too thick, you can actually cook them whole. So many recipes to choose from.

05.01.2022 Halloween Food: Dip in Pumpkin Cob Recipe Shepherd's Pumpkin Cob Loaf 500g diced pumpkin (1cm cubes) 1 clove garlic, crushed 2 teaspoons ground cumin... 2 tablespoons Greek or Natural (unsweetened yogurt) 2 tablespoons raw cashews Fresh coriander (2 tablespoons finely chopped + extra to serve) Salt and Pepper, Olive Oil Microwave pumpkin with a teaspoon of water for a few minutes, until par-cooked. In a large frypan over medium heat, fry garlic and cumin in olive oil for 1 minute, then add pumpkin. Fry until soft, then remove. Add pumpkin, cashews and the yogurt into a blender and whiz until it forms a thick dip consistency - not too pureed, a few chunks are nice! Add chopped coriander, salt and pepper to taste, and stir through with a spoon. Hollow out the Pumpkin Cob carefully (retaining the bread from inside for dipping) and bake lightly until crispy. Remove the cob from the oven, leave to cool until it's just warm and then gently pour and spoon in the dip. Decorate with a big sprig of coriander and serve on a platter with the lightly toasted bread chunks, plus vegetable sticks for dipping. See more
05.01.2022 Look what Box Divvy are trialling nearby. Hopefully it will be coming our way soon!
04.01.2022 Tip for storing potatoes: Store potatoes in burlap, brown paper, or perforated plastic bags away from light, in the coolest, non-refrigerated, and well-ventilated part of the house not in an area where this is no air flow such as a cupboard. Under ideal conditions they can last up to three months this way, but more realistically, figure three to five weeks.
03.01.2022 Anyone planning to do this with your Box Divvy vegetables?
03.01.2022 Thanks for some great ideas Box Divvy Cardiff- Boston!
02.01.2022 The importance of local Having worked with over 15 local growers from Wilberforce to Horsley Park and Leppington has made us appreciate the hard work they do, i...n sometimes challenging conditions. But they are important in other ways, especially for their local communities. Over the past 12 months, we or rather: you! have injected almost $1.3m into these local communities on Sydney’s fringe. And much of that money is spent again with other local businesses bakeries, flower shops, car mechanics. According to some research, the multiplier effect of spending local can be as high as $3.50 for every dollar that goes into these communities. Of course, there are other compelling reasons for buying local: the produce is fresher, has a lower carbon footprint, is mostly chemical-free, and in line with our own seasons. And as we grow, we help them plan what they plant and how much #reducefoodmiles #unsupermarket #eatfresh #boxdivvy See more

01.01.2022 "My favourite day of the week to eat lunch. Basil, spinach, avocado and tomatoes. So so so good." Thanks for the photo Courtney.
01.01.2022 What’s going to be good this week? Simon Chong, our Asian Greens and Herb grower, is excited! Most of his crop from Gai Lan to coriander and shallots have come through the wet couple of days in good shape. The mild weather is pushing them along nicely, and he is expecting excellent numbers of English spinach, Chinese broccoli and coriander.
