21.01.2022 Good things really do come in small packages!! You can get your daily vitamin C intake from just four Brussels sprouts. For maximum nutrition, eat them raw - we love them shaved fresh in an autumn salad. Perfect Partners: Bacon, lemon, chilli, garlic, ginger, apple. Quick Idea: This is perfect for the cold weather. Place halved Brussels sprouts on a baking tray with strips of bacon. Scatter over chilli flakes and drizzle with olive oil. Season. Roast until golden and cr...isp. Serve with a squeeze of lemon. We have these beauties in our starter box this week.

20.01.2022 Some great prices this week. Anyone for a little Bruschetta or zucchini pesto??

18.01.2022 My Box Divvy Curry Everything from Box Divvy except the coconut milk. Potato, pumpkin, leek, garlic, carrot, parsnip, cauliflower, broccoli, beans, mushrooms. Used the new Belicious Masala. Even the rice that I served it on was from Box Divvy. Yummmy. Love the varieties. Love the flavours.

18.01.2022 Look at all these great fresh vegetables ready for cooking dinner last night. And the finished dinner was delicious. Can't beat the freshness and variety we get.

18.01.2022 Another great thing about Box Divvy is the waste and packaging or better still the lack of it. Our delivery arrives in the variety of boxes and packaging. At the end all I put in the garbage bin is a bit of tape used to close some boxes. The green crates, waxed boxes and polystyrene all gets collected by the driver the following week and goes back to the growers to be used again (and again and again)... The plastic gets dropped off to the locate redcycle bin. With the cardboard boxes, we use the good ones next week to pack orders into and the ones that are broken, etc we recycle with the other paper and cardboard. Lastly, the leaf waste or the occasional bit of bad produce goes home to the chooks or compost bin. I love that there is no unnecessary packaging and more importantly nothing into landfill.

07.01.2022 Interesting Banana facts: the Case for Coffs Great fruit choices galore this week, starting with bananas: the warmer weather is bringing on bigger crops and lower prices. After selling around $2.50 for most of winter and spring, they have now dropped to under $2. That alone is a good reason for going big this week. But here are a few other considerations: 95% of Box Divvy bananas are sourced mainly from the Coffs region from Scotts Head to Woolgoolga and some from nort...hern NSW around Murwillumbah. Transport from Coffs (530kms from Sydney) uses about 80% fewer food miles compared with Queensland bananas, most of which are grown in Innesfail, south of Cairns Because of the more humid climate in North Qld, the crop requires a fair amount of ag chemicals fungicides and pesticides mainly to maintain their good looks. That is important, as the major supermarkets only buy Qld bananas and cosmetics are considered more important than flavour and nutrition. By contrast, Coffs bananas use little or no chemicals at all. What’s more: because it’s a little cooler than Qld, it takes an extra 1-2 months to bring the fruit to maturity. That makes the Coffs bananas noticeably sweeter. That said, they may not always win a beauty contest! Lower input and transport cost plus Box Divvy’s low-cost model mean they are consistently 30-40% cheaper than supermarket bananas What’s more: bananas are remarkably healthy. They provide lots of energy, but still have a lower GI (Glycaemic Index) than sweet potatoes and pumpkin. That means blood sugar rises only gradually after eating a banana. They’re also full of vitamin B6 important for the manufacture of red blood cells as well as potassium (good for brain development and maintaining healthy blood pressure) and fibre (including pectin, which can help prevent colon cancer). Did we mention they’re fat-free and cholesterol-free? Little wonder that bananas are Australia’s number one selling fruit!

06.01.2022 Time to try something different. Steve Grima in Horsley Park has a late flush of purple and green cauliflower! They not only look great, but taste sweet. They’re just over $4 each - what a bargain.

04.01.2022 Nothing better then being able to support local farmers. At the same time as supporting them we are reducing our food mileage. The snowpeas were so fresh and crunchy this week. The Ung family from Golden Fields in Wallacia - at the foothills of the Blue Mountains, next to Warragamba are picking good volumes of snowpeas now, and they should be around $10/Kg. That’s less than half compared with the major supermarkets and Harris Farm

03.01.2022 SOLD!!!!!! Anyone interested in our $20 sample box today?

02.01.2022 With the cooler weather now, there is no better time to be making some delicious pumpkin soup. Top it off with some sourdough toast for dipping. Yummy yum yum.

01.01.2022 Great value, super fresh, delicious fruit and vegies. Available every Friday. No contact pick up. Delivery available. If you would like information contact us.

01.01.2022 Just letting you all know that our order cycle has been reduced by one day. If you are interested in joining our hub you now have until 9pm on a Sunday night to join for that week's order cycle. Have a wonderful Sunday.
