24.01.2022 Chats members will remember Roy Pilley, a well loved member of our group until a couple of years ago. We have just heard the sad news that Roy passed away at the weekend. Lionel Wood has written the following tribute . Roy was a beautiful Christian man who way back in 1948 at Geelong Corps had, along with his beloved Wilma a profound effect on this young 14 year old lad just starting out on the pathway of Christian service. Roy was Youth Group Leader of a very large Youth Gro...up who set a wonderful example to us all. Down the years our paths have crossed many times and in latter years I saw and chatted with him often at Ringwood and Box Hill Corps. Then later at Livingston Gardens until the lockdown. I remember hearing him say simply on many occasions, ' My Wilma was a wonderful person. I'm really not much without her.' Such love they shared together. Now they are re-united in the presence of Jesus. We will always remember you dear Roy, and thank you for your lovely influence over so many of our lives. To the family who will surely miss him, just remember that "...underneath you all at this time are "the everlasting arms of God." See more

17.01.2022 An Open Invitation I hope you have enjoyed the Friday Facebook Chats over the last number of weeks! We are now entering a less stringent isolation regime with up to 20 people able to meet in a group. Some people have taken up our suggestion of small gatherings in homes and local cafes etc.... A couple of people are hosting a casual lunch this Friday! This Friday June 19th Jan and I are going to Wattle Park for lunch. If you are available we would like to join us. ( Next to Wattle Park Chalet, near the old Trams) We will be there at 12noon. Just bring your own lunch and a drink. ( The Wattle Park Bakery have some great pies!) Wear something warm! Easy access and plenty of parking Be assured that we will have plenty of space and enough tables etc for social distancing. We will also sanitise all tables etc before you arrive. (You may also like to bring you own chair if you prefer.) You may like to phone someone near you who you know does not have transport and offer to bring them. Hope you can make it! (Even If you have never been to CHATS before) Jan and James

07.01.2022 Hi to all our isolated Chats Friends! This time last year Jan & I were enjoying a 6 week tour of Europe to Celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. On this day last September we were in the middle of 4 days in beautiful Vienna. (Memories!!!!) Come back tomorrow at 10am for some 'Armchair Travel" to Vienna with Rick Steves.

04.01.2022 12 years ago Jan and I attended a Michael Buble Concert. The support act was a fabulous acapella group of 7 men called "Naturally 7" All their instrumental and percussion accompaniment is entirely vocal.
