24.01.2022 CELEBRATING 130 YEARS! Congratulations Box Hill City Band your performance was totally enthralling - with such an extensive music repertoire. The finale with al...l 90 performers from ages 7 years up was spectacular! One of the oldest banding organisations in Victoria, Box Hill City Band Inc was founded as the Box Hill Temperance Band in the 1880’s. After many name changes, the Box Hill City Band is stronger now than ever before! Whitehorse Brass Box Hill Historical Society With my fellow Whitehorse Councillors Blair Barker, Raylene Carr, Tina Liu and Ben Stennett.

20.01.2022 Fantastic concert today premiering the complete work of Andrew Batterham’s Letters from Flanders at the Box Hill RSL. A challenging and moving work based on the letters from Private Reginald Littlejohns, Andrew’s grandfather, sent to family back home, from Europe, during World War 1. Thanks for your work Andrew, another great piece of Australian band literature.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Geelong West Brass Band for their win in the B grade Open Victorian State Band Champions this afternoon. Also, to Boroondara Brass, for their second place. Thanks for a wonderful contest and we are looking forward to next time. Thanks too, to Ralph Hultgren for his wonderful new hymn Unbounded Love. Box Hill is proud have premiered his work today and proud to be a supporter of new Australian music. We are also indebted to Graham Homes, our President, for... his huge role in the commissioning of this work. Also, thanks to the Royal South Street Society, Kevin Cameron and the Victorian Bands League for another fantastic State Championships. To Tim Kelly and the rest of the Brassbanned team, thanks also for putting our competitions on the world stage. Love your work.

15.01.2022 Huge congratulations to Matt Dudfield, our very talented Solo Tenor Horn player. He is the brand new Victorian State Open Tenor Horn Champion! Anyone who knows Matt will tell you about his incredible work ethic. In addition to his tenor horn abilities, he is also an extraordinary multi-instrumentalist and award winning conductor. Matt travels from Bendigo to rehearse with the band (when we aren't locked down!); amazing commitment.... We are very proud (and indeed privileged) to have Matt as part of our organisation.
