10.01.2022 Members of our R&D team have been busy lately investigating and reviewing the coach learning literature as part of a project aimed at enhancing current coaching... practices. A key element of the project has been the development of the following definition that is not only being used to guide the work but has just been featured in a peer-reviewed publication. "It is evident from the literature that effective sport coaching is a complex, challenging and multi-faceted task that requires a variety of skills and involves many responsibilities. It can be thought of as both a socially constructed activity bound by goal-oriented practice and a pedagogical endeavour aimed at bringing about the desired changes" (Perkins & Hahn, 2020). Hopefully, the work Paul and Allan are doing will continue to influence the Australian sport sector and assist with the development of coaching expertise.
