02.01.2022 12 months ago I had the opportunity to meet up with Boxing legend John H Stracey and his lovely wife Kathy-Jane. John H. Stracey is the boxer that got me interested in watching boxing as an 8 year old on the television and inspired to take up the sport as a 13 year old. In an era before social media when boxing was huge on free to air television and backpages of the national daily newspapers John H won the WBC World Welterweight Championship in Mexico against the legendary J...ose Napoles it seemed like the whole of the UK had stopped to watch this title fight. I am so fortunate to have met my all time favourite boxer and to have him as a personal friend.
