14.01.2022 This prayer is traditionally read at our Firefighter Memorial Service, which is usually held on a Sunday nearest to International Firefighters' Day. These word...s are a fitting tribute to those who have embodied what it truly means to be a firefighter, to risk their lives for the safety of others. Today, we honour those individuals who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

13.01.2022 Another 6 fire fighters injured. Praying for a speedy recovery and for no more accidents to occur during this fire season.

13.01.2022 SOUTH WEST FIREYS STEP UP Across the country, bushfires are devastating communities, burning thousands of hectares of bushland and destroying lives and home...s. And the South West’s brave volunteer firefighters, including a number from Leschenault, Roelands and Bunbury, are stepping up and facing them head on.

13.01.2022 Something so simple and not intentional is all it takes. This took guts to speak out on national tv and apologise for what is a freak accident.

13.01.2022 Best outcome possible for the entire Shire, our volunteers and residents.

09.01.2022 Easter bunny good to go.

09.01.2022 RESIDENTS SHOW SUPPORT FOR FIRE OFFICER UPDATE: The motion was withdrawn from council tonight. Community members from the Shire of Capel have rocked up in... force as a show of solidarity ahead of tonight’s council meeting. The meeting will include a contentious motion to try and remove Deputy Chief Bush Fire Control Officer Murray Scott from his position. The petition of support for Mr Scott that has been circulating over the last few days has gathered more than 600 signatures, as the community pushes for council to listen.

09.01.2022 End of shift for the guys up at Red gully. Time for a sleep and return home this afternoon.

08.01.2022 HOW TO PAY TRIBUTE TO U-S FIRE BOMBER CREW Ahead of a memorial service in Sydney today for three Americans killed fighting our fires, we're being asked to kee...p their memories alive. The crew died when their C-130 Hercules air tanker crashed while fighting a fire near Cooma earlier this month. Fellow American firefighter Gerrad wants us to never forget his 'family' by sharing this post and graphic below.

08.01.2022 Here is footage of Wayne Coulson, CEO Coulson Group speaking at today's press conference at NSW Rural Fire Service.

07.01.2022 The crews spent the afternoon at a small grass fire that got into hay rolls in Dardanup shire and then the call went again at 9.30pm for another fire on lakes road. Undulating terrain and night shift made the task more difficult.

05.01.2022 This highlights the importance of crew protection deluge and roll down blankets. Combined with training to use it in the time of need. The crew was fine after they made it through this.

03.01.2022 Keep watch on the warnings for anyone in the vicinity of this fire.

03.01.2022 We’ve made Albany with the task force eaten and preparing to park up for the night.

02.01.2022 Crews spent the morning across shire boundaries to participate in argyle / irishtowns RUI exercise. They had an excellent turn out of crews and appliances. Then later this afternoon we had a call for all shire units to good wood road in Capel. Fortunately fast response from local brigades and landowners with their own fire units it was extinguished before it did any further damage. Ivan Danko

02.01.2022 As bushfires burn across Australia, we look back to 1961. This ABC News report shows how communities around Dwellingup in Western Australia fought and survived... bushfires. There are many things that have changed, but also many things that remain the same - including the community spirit to help those in need. #RetroFocus

01.01.2022 Today is National Red Balloon Day - also known as Thank You Fireys Day This bushfire season has been utterly devastating for our country. Through each diffi...cult day, one constant remained - the resilience of those incredible individuals who put their fellow Australians first, protecting life and property against everything Mother Nature threw at us. These photos are a firefighters and our Incident Photographers insight into the dangers faced, the camaraderie, the diversity and the true Aussie spirit that never faltered. Career firefighters, volunteer firefighters, DBCA firefighters - shoulder to shoulder in our State and others. Thank you.
