25.01.2022 Work on the Woodburn Riverside Park redevelopment is steaming ahead! This week the old jetty was demolished in dramatic fashion with the old piers plucked out o...f the riverbed one by one with an excavator. Take a look at the video for a snapshot of some of the ongoing work. The old jetty will be replaced with a brand new jetty alongside a state of the art boardwalk to better showcase Woodburns greatest natural asset, the Richmond River. Landscaping of the new playground and picnic area is also continuing with demolition works of the old playground, and eventually the old toilet block. Meanwhile the interior of the new community centre is taking shape. The new building will be a hub for locals clubs and community groups and offers a million dollar view over the river. This first $2.5 million stage of the total $3.8 million two-stage project is expected to open mid-year. It's jointly funded by the Federal Government, State Government, and Council.

23.01.2022 Kingscliff Central Park Rowan Robinson Park Client: SEE Civil About This Project: Boyds Bay Landscaping were awarded the Landscaping for the SEE Civil/Tweed Shire Council Project. This large community space was created in the Kingscliff CBD, on land vacated by a reduction in the footprint of the Kingscliff Beach Holiday Park. Kingscliff Central Park is located to the north of Cudgen Headland Surf Life Saving Club and will be a centrepiece of the Kingscliff foreshore and a c...ommunity hub for the town. The protective seawall constructed by SEE Civil has allowed the creation of a stunning beachfront park which will restore the uncluttered, natural vista of the beachfront. The new space has become a centre of community, visitor, recreational and cultural activity. The new features for the park include recreational facilities for the aged, disabled and youth, improved beach access, a bigger Cenotaph area, a boardwalk with viewing platforms, barbecues, picnic shelters and landscaped parklands. Existing amenities at the southern end of the Kingscliff Beach Holiday Park site have also been reconfigured and upgraded to preserve their heritage values and provide public amenities for the central park. The improved community hall will create a central community hub for festivals and events. http://boydsbaygroup.com.au//see-civil-kingscliff-foresho/

The park encourages physical activity from its users while they ...hone their balance and climbing skills. The local community contributed to the parks development in the form of art installations throughout. Students from the local Meridan State College painted their foot and hand prints onto pavers while others painted pebbles which were later embedded into the footpath and around other features. https://boydsbaygroup.com.au//creekwood-developments-cree/

17.01.2022 ALEXANDER CLARK PARK - Logan City Council Another project in the books for Logan City Council ever growing, ever improving parks department portfolio. Its always a pleasure for Boyds Bay working alongside this client from dog parks to playgrounds the Logan City catchment no shortage a public green space and they show each and everyone the upmost care ensuring the community can best utilise them. The recent refurbishment to this playground at Alexander Clark Park is but a sma...ll part on the edge of the vast Logan River Parklands, just off to the inland side of the M1, a part that is close to residential homes and therefore heavily used by the public. Its with this in mind that a sense of durability and industry shines through on this project with its strong concrete features. Utilising concrete pipes as planters and the inclusion of a controllable digger play into not only the industrial roots of the area but also how its intertwined with the surrounding bush and wetlands. The concrete will provide stability throughout the many years of use to come. Being a refurbishment, new life was also given to existing features of the park with fresh coats of paint and fix-ups the park looks better than ever. Key Features: Play equipment installation Softfall Sand/Rubber Concrete Pathways Concrete Features (Pipes and Seating) Sub-surface Drainage Softscapes http://boydsbaygroup.com.au//logan-city-council-alexander/

17.01.2022 Yesterday the students at Terranora Public School were lucky enough to test out their new Natural Learning Space. Well done to the Boyds Bay Crew for putting this amazing playground together! The kids definitely look like they approve!!

16.01.2022 Oaky Creek Realignment - SEE Civil About This Project For years the Northern end of the Gold Coast has been the fastest growing and for most part is the final frontier of the region. Boyds Bay have contributed their landscape and environmental services to countless projects throughout the Oxenford, Coomera, Upper Coomera and Pimpama corridor. As the housing developments continue to rise the time has finally arrived for the infrastructure of the area to catch up. It began with... the redevelopment of the North and Southbound highway exits at Coomera and the connecting overpass. This then paved the way for the construction of a new Shell Service Centre, upgrade to the Coomera train station and the currently under construction Westfield Shopping Centre. Further projects are planned for the adjacent land such as The Link, a retail and industrial business park that aims to be the biggest the Gold Coast has ever seen. From its theme parks and seemingly never ending housing developments, to its chaotic central highway and arid, rocky appearance its easy for people to forget this entire area sits only 12 kilometres from the open waters of the Pacific Ocean. The region is filled with interconnected waterways that flow right through its heart to the coastal chain of islands that protect the northern coast line. On the back of the much needed upgrade to infrastructure in the area it is of the utmost importance to ensure the surrounding waterways and bushlands remain clean while the local flora and fauna continue to thrive in their natural setting. Sustainability continues to be at the forefront of new development and undertaking the creek realignment works showcases the ability to work with and preserve the existing landscape. http://boydsbaygroup.com.au//see-civil-kingscliff-foresho/

15.01.2022 AVEO Gasworks - Newstead, Brisbane About This Project: 3 Kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, sitting atop a newly refurbished shopping centre. In a historically rich, former industrial suburb that is quickly transforming into a booming shopping and nightlife precinct. Rapidly being populated by bars, restaurants, micro breweries and live music venues, it may sound like the last place youd expect to find an over 50s retirement community. But retiring to the beach or countrysid...e isnt for everybody and this isnt any ordinary retirement community, this is for the young at heart, for those who dont want to give up the variety, excitement and convenience that comes with inner city living. An oasis with a view and access to all that this great city has to offer. To read more about this project: http://boydsbaygroup.com.au//hutchinson-builders-aveo-gas/

14.01.2022 We're mad for melons in Chinchilla! If you think the Big Melon is the next big thing, wait until you see the Watermelon Water Play Area at the #chinchillabotanicparklands. Here's the very start of the 'splash pad' thanks to state-of-the-art water treatment technology, the Water Play Area uses no more than the equivalent of a small Chinchilla household's daily water consumption for each day of operation. Here's to #waterwise summer afternoons at the Parklands in 2019!

14.01.2022 THE HIGHGATE - BRISBANE The Highgate is a luxury 10 storey, hillside, residential tower located just 2km from the Brisbane CBD in the suburb of Highgate Hill. This 1.5 acre site is not only home to 31 brand new top shelf apartments but is also 80% covered in stunning landscaped gardens and outdoor features. To compliment the panoramic city views to the North, The Highgate features, open grass areas, winding paved pathways, sandstone crazy pave, outdoor communal seating are...as, a fire pit, boulder retaining walls and LOTS of greenery between. Building on a hillside always presents a challenge and that challenge becomes increasingly more difficult the steeper the hill gets. The Highgate site was very steep and even 2 of its 10 stories are plaza levels below street level. Adaptability was key in completing this project as designs frequently changed to improve the project as it developed, open communication and a strong on site management presence ensured the project went off without complication. http://boydsbaygroup.com.au//hutchinson-builders-the-high/

12.01.2022 Homestead Park - Logan City Council About This Project: The Boyds Bay Landscaping team, working once again with Logan City Council, had the pleasure of revitalising the vast open space of Homestead Park in the Logan City suburb of Shailer Park. Having worked on several parks in the area in the past we knew the quality standard expected by our client and took every step to ensure we exceeded it. Notable elements of the project include a renovated playground, new and relocate...d shelters, relocated small dog off leash area and the standout piece, a brand new Futsal Court. The first step in the completion of this project was the demolition, preservation and relocation of existing park elements to make way for the new and rejuvenated elements. Bulk earthworks, concrete slabs and pathways as well as sandstone block retaining then formed the foundations to create a new-look park. The small dog off leash area features a new airlock gate system, two rotundas, chain-link fencing, re-purposed agility elements and a security screen to protect smaller dogs from the eyes of bigger dogs as they pass. The playground offers a shaded slide, smaller childs play area, sand play areas, climbing elements, artistic soft-fall designs, topped off by furniture and planting to the surrounds. The new Futsal Court features a professional play surface and goals surrounded by a chain-link fence. Around these elements are shelters and furniture to accommodate people of all ages and their pets. https://boydsbaygroup.com.au//logan-city-council-homestea/

09.01.2022 ALTITUDE ASPIRE - Terranora NSW - Residential Estate About This Project Terranora is a vast suburb in the hills behind Tweed Heads. Its main township lies a 5 minute drive and 2 valleys away around the scenic rim, past large houses on large blocks of land amidst historic farm lands and views from either side of the ridge down through the valley to the inlets of the Tweed River or over the vast cane fields and out to the ocean. Altitude lies on the front edge of the suburb on... the borderline of the neighbouring suburb of Banora Point on the site of a former fruit farm that thrived in the landscapes rich red volcanic dirt. Early stages such as the sales offices, top entry and streetscapes along Fraser Drive were carried out along side SEE Civil while the later stages have been for Newland Developers. Key Project Features: Stone clad entry walls and features Extensive custom timber works Custom fencing package Streetscapes Sales office This site presented numerous challenges throughout construction which were all overcome to achieve this excellent finished result. The main challenge, however, was that while the volcanic nature of the underlying earth makes for excellent growing conditions, it also means the earth is full of famous Terranora bush rocks and boulders. They might make for great retaining walls but they make digging a hole a lot harder than it needs to be. http://boydsbaygroup.com.au//see-civilnewland-developers-/

09.01.2022 Heading south over the school holidays? Make sure to call in and check out the NEW Woodburn Riverside Park!! About This Project: Boyds Bay Landscaping were engaged by Richmond Valley Council to upgrade the existing Woodburn Riverside Park. Woodburn is located roughly 40 minutes south of Ballina in the New South Wales, Northern Rivers region. The aim for the upgrade was to attract the passers by to detour or come back to spend some quality time enjoying Woodburn once the Pacif...ic Highway diversion around the town is completed. Instead of a quick stop as travelers drive up and down the east coast, it will become a destination in and of itself. The existing park consisted of 20 plus years of gradual additions, leaving many of the aspects of the park dated and mismatched. The new design called for the demolition of all structures to the southern end of the park and starting fresh with a clean slate. The scope of works included new concrete pavements, stone clad walls that separated different zones in the park while also functioning as seating and retaining walls, large sandstone blocks that also created more features, seating and tiered retaining down to an existing beach area. The scope of works also included new shelters, furniture, lawns, gardens and a playground with a large sand pit. https://boydsbaygroup.com.au//richmond-valley-council-woo/
