25.01.2022 Last nights racing was for the 2nd leg of the Kalg/Esperance challenge and was hoping for some good racing, having fitted in the new 350 Chevy engine. Engine went real well with no leaks or faults but the rest of the car let us down. Heat 1 - win Heat 2 - 2 Nd thought I had a flat and pulled to top of track and ran but obviously just a shit load of mud in the rim. Heat 3 - 1st but had the LHF tie rod dislodge for most of the race so made it very hard to steer. Feature - Blew ...the RHR tyre off the rim several laps in . DNF However just won the night on points for Kalgoorlie and took out highest points for AMCAs for the 2 events overall. As a double header for the night it was also AMCA WA Action Series round which was won by Steve Wright , great job for your first win, well done. Chopper came in 2nd. Well done to Kalgoorlie Speedway as winners this year over Esperance Speedway. Couple of weeks and we race Esperance for possibly our last race for the season. 24.01.2022 Had a good days racing for Father’s Day considering we were um and ahhing about going to Ellenbrook for racing. Heat 1 finished 3rd Heat 2 spun causing another car to launch over my nose. Not happy as over drived. Then got my payback with a gentle accidental nudge into the wall resulting in a DNF Feature started 6th and finished 6th. Car performed rather well considering all the work I did to her recently. ... So other than some cosmetic damage I was glad I made the trip. First heat - 1st Heat 2 DNF as flat RHF after contact with a loose car. Heat 3 - 1st Feature - 2nd... Great racing by all and well done to Lionel and Jock on their podium positions. 22.01.2022 Been very quiet lately bare in the shed getting the Latemodel ready for racing. Recently had our Kalgoorlie wind up which I have been made a Life Member of KIS. A truly great honour which truely shocked me and to be truthful I am very humbled, and did not ever to expect for the rest of my years. Thank you greatly to all involved in the club. The team also for the shortened season took out the closed club champion for the AMCA Nationals and the Latemodel divisions. To top th...is all off we have also been awarded the Esperance closed champion team for Esperance Speedway in AMCA Nationals. Massive thanks to all our little team and family who put a huge effort in all season long and make it all so enjoyable to be a part of racing. 21.01.2022 Boyes Motorsport on the weekend made the trip to Perth to race the BGC Pro Dirt Series for Latemodels which was also the John Day Classic for the Motorplex. Big thanks goes out to Ian of RAG Electrical for once again sorting out the electrical gremlin in the car prior to leaving Kalgoorlie. On the night we got a 7th in the first heat after starting 4th. Then the 2nd unfortunately was a DNF after running over the nose cone of another spinning car, causing the RHR shock and mou...nting to break into bits. This is where we thank so many others for their help in the pits to change out the shock and mounting. Cardy Racing for supplying a spare shock to use, Brad Wright for his helping hand, Brads daughter Aubrey for her excitement and expertise and Vosbergens for the supply of the new mount. Feature time we started at the rear in 21st and finished 10th overall so we received the hard charger award. Overall we are happy chappy's, just time to start tweaking the car and the driver growing some bigger balls to getting a lot more pace. 14.01.2022 WA State Title, the team came in 3rd. Unfortunately my driving and a couple of problems raising their ugly heads from the first heat incident let the team down in the feature. 08.01.2022 After 7 years with the Cool Cat from when I bought her from new and a lot of bloody great years racing , she is on her way East. Massive thanks to all the sponsors and all those who have travelled with us and or pitcrewed for the AMCA as there has been a lot of fun times with mates and family as well as all the great mates we made in our time in AMCAs. I think highly of this division and it’s recent progression over previous years as in the car improvements and the low cost to run ( compared to other divisions ) but due to varies reasons we have to make changes. Hope to still be involved with the division as in pitcrewing and possibly 1 day in the future the seat.
