20.01.2022 #NAIDOCWeek provides an opportunity to celebrate one of the longest living cultures in the world and understand some of the issues still facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. This week and every week, we acknowledge the significant contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia; including our staff, suppliers, partners and customers. 17.01.2022 Together with Ørsted, we’ll work to develop a 50 MW electrolyser powered by wind energy at our Lingen refinery in Germany a significant step in developing a new hydrogen business for a decarbonized world. We're also currently undertaking a feasibility study into an export-scale renewable hydrogen production facility in Western Australia. Both initiatives support bp’s ambition to become a net zero company by 2050 or sooner and to help the world get to net zero.

15.01.2022 bp will cease fuel production at our Kwinana Refinery and convert it to an import terminal, helping to ensure ongoing security of fuel supply for Western Australia. bp Australia Head of Country Frédéric Baudry said: Today’s decision to cease refining is a difficult one and not in any way a result of local policy settings. It comes in response to the long-term structural changes to the regional fuels market. Converting to an import terminal will not impact the safe and reliable supply of quality fuel products to Western Australia; however, it will require fewer people to run. We deeply regret the job losses that will result and will do everything we can to support our people through the transition.
