25.01.2022 Sporting clubs play a huge part in people’s lives. For some, it can be their only outlet from a busy work/ personal life. Their chance to be amongst friends. Their chance to forget everything going on around them and just relax. Days like today, with the current situation in Victoria, only serve as a reminder that we are all in this together. Not just for the 6 months we share the sporting field, but also when times get tough. ... It’s okay not to be okay. Please, take the first step and reach out...whether it’s you who needs support or you know of someone else who might be struggling. The first call is always the hardest. Just make it. We are more than a club...we are family.

13.01.2022 The 'Prince of Pakington Street' Glen Talarico was in very nice touch yesterday with a well compiled 50 at the back end for the Panthers to get them to a very challenging score for the Dragons to chase down.

08.01.2022 Gday Everyone... For those not on the email list, this went out this morning! If you want to get on the email list, shoot me your email address. ... Cheers Hi All, Hope everyone is well and doing their best in these trying times! It looks as though the light at the end of the tunnel, in Vic, is finally getting closer! Been a while since we sent any correspondence outtoo be honest, not a lot has been happening!! Firstly, I would like to welcome former President, Sandy Bartholomeusz, back on to the committee. Sandy contacted me a couple of weeks back expressing an interest to help out in any way he could, offering his expertise in developmental coaching to the club. He has also offered his services to complete Grant Applications on behalf of the club. This is a position that we have sorely lacked over the years, probably costing ourselves thousands in Federal, State and Council Funding. Sandy will fill the role of the BPHCC Authorised Officer for Grants. Great to have you on board Sandy. Always nice to welcome back great people. On to cricket newswe are still awaiting an official start date for both Junior and Senior competitions. There is a belief floating around the Juniors may start on the weekend of the 17th of Oct, but that has yet to be officially confirmed. It was reported in the Geelong Addy, but that doesn’t make it so! Haha We are still seeking players across all junior sections, so if you have kids, grandkids, great grand kids, nephews, nieces, neighbours with kids etc who would like a game of cricket, no matter what level they are at, please let us knowthey are the future! As with last year, we ran the early membership drive through June/ Julywe had 11 people take up the option of a discounted membership, putting around $2700.00 in to the club. That money is used directly to upgrade our maintenance equipment. Thank you to all those who jumped on board. This year the money will be spent on the following: 25m x 3m Growth Mat 2 x 25m x 3.6m Hessian Covers for the Pitch 20 Extra Long Pegs to help hold the covers down on days when the BPH Zephyr picks up! We are also having the Centre Square professionally renovated (by our Curator, Liam) next Friday. Finally, I would like to give a massive shout out to our sponsors and ask that you continue to support them if you can. 05.01.2022 Hi All. Just a quick update... If you are up at the club over the next few weeks, just so you aren’t concerned, both the centre pitch table and parts of the nets have been sprayed this morning. The centre has been overrun by Poa grass that is damaging to the square. ... As it does off, the square, to be honest, will look like shit! Haha Don’t panic, Liam has it all under control. Cheers

05.01.2022 Hi All, For those in the Brownbill Ward for the upcoming Council election, please consider throwing your support behind Eddy Kontelj. Eddy, as a lifelong BPH person, has a vested interest in ensuring that facilities in our area receive the funding and attention they deserve. Since first taking on a role in Council, Eddy has been a fantastic voice for not only our Cricket Club, but the sporting community at Myers Res in general. ... For those not aware, resurfacing and drainage works will begin at the Reserve early in the new year, thanks to a $500,000 funding allocation from Council that was achieved with strong advocation from Eddy. We are also in preliminary discussions (pending the election outcome) to secure funding for a Master Plan for the next 10 years worth of upgrades at Myers Res. Eddy has thrown his support behind this. For these future projects to become a reality, we need a strong and passionate voice on our side at Council. Eddy has provided this and has committed to continue his work, on our behalf, if re-elected. Make your vote count for the future of our Club.
