19.01.2022 I have just received the below media release from the Isaac Regional disaster management centre. Central Queensland - Heavy Vehicle Advice Currently there is no accessible heavy vehicle route north to Mackay, as the Bruce Highway is closed to heavy vehicles (over 5 tonne combination gross weight limit) at Granite Creek, between Rockhampton and Mackay; the Peak Downs Highway is also closed at multiple locations.... Emergency relief vehicles and equipment transit through road closures on the Bruce Highway is being managed on a case by case basis, with prior approval required before proceeding. Inland, the Capricorn Highway is open and the Gregory Highway, north to Clermont is also open. Heavy vehicle operators should also check the Heavy Vehicle Conditions Operations Database on the TMR website before they commence their journey. The safety of all road users and TMR staff is our highest priority at this time. While a road might look safe to drive across, all road users are urged not to drive on a road that is flooded or that is damaged. QLDTraffic - Want more info?
