08.01.2022 IMPORTANT STATEMENT FROM NSCC COMMITTEE REGARDING THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK IN AUSTRALIA Dear Member Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced a new raft of un...precedented restrictions on non-essential gatherings in a bid to slow the rapid spread of coronavirus. He stated that measures and guidelines rolled out last week fell on deaf ears, with Australians continuing to use venues across the country at the weekend, and the government had no confidence that such guidelines would be followed. Subsequently, for public health reasons further actions and measures were to be implemented that closes those venues and limits such gatherings, initiating stage 1of new restrictions as of March 23, at noon. Although NSCC has implemented arrangements in regard to those initial guidelines where it had ceased all organised group tennis events, tournaments and competitions with the closure of the club house and kiosk, the club now finds it necessary to implement additional measures in respect of social activities that fully supports all efforts requested by government to minimise and help contain the spread of the coronavirus [COVID_19] within the community and reduce the strain on our health system. Therefore as a consequence, all other organised social tennis activities are suspended with immediate effect that specifically relate to: Tuesday night Organised Open Court Sessions Tuesday night and Sunday afternoon Organised Social Pickleball Wednesday night Organised Social Tennis Thursday night and Sunday afternoon Organised Social Tennis. Bigpoint Tennis will continue to hold regular tennis coaching at the Club with restricted numbers, and will ensure continued emphasis on appropriate social distancing, and proper hygiene (washing hands, regular use of hand sanitiser). (Friday night Group Sessions have been cancelled per previous notifications). Individual access to the tennis courts (honesty box operates) will be available for members, wishing to maintain an active lifestyle, but we are encouraging all members that choose to use the tennis facilities to fully employ SOCIAL DISTANCING and BEST HYGIENE PRACTICE to help contain the spread of the coronavirus (namely regular hand washing and regular application of hand sanitiser). We will advise you with immediate effect of any further changes or direction as they occur during these challenging times and we really appreciate everyones help with implementing them.
