06.01.2022 Giant Pink Slugs of Mt Kaputar. These giant air breathing slugs can only be found amongst an ancient eucalypt forest atop the extinct volcano of Mt Kaputar in NSW. With an elevation of roughly 1,500m, Mt Kaputar maintains a temperature much cooler than the surrounding plains, creating an isolated ecozone that harbours several unique species confined to the mountain’s environment.
