21.01.2022 What is myofascial release? Myofascial release is a hands-on approach to managing pain and discomfort. Now don’t expect a gentle massage with aromatherapy and pan flute music. Instead, myofascial release can be an intense experience. During a session, a physical therapist, chiropractor or even massage therapist will massage, knead and gently stretch the muscles and fascia to work out knots. This bodywork technique also involves applying pressure to tight or sore areas to ge...t them to relax. The pressure is applied with the therapist’s hands, elbows or a massage tool like a foam roller or a ball. You might feel sore afterward, but when the soreness subsides, you’ll feel a lot looser than you did before. 02.01.2022 Bodywork and Somatic Exploration Somatic bodywork supports a comprehensive approach to coaching through the body. Soma has two routes as a word from Ancient Greek the living body in its wholeness and from Sanskrit the flow of consciousness. In modern times we can understand it as our whole being mind, body and spirit. Somatics describes the form of working through the body (rather than on or with the body) to (re)discover who we are and to cultivate ways of being and... ways of showing up that serve our goals and needs today. By working through the body, we can tap into the wisdom of the body to learn to embody the values and qualities we think important. You may sense you’re stuck and haven’t been able to change. Or you may be aspiring to things in life that ask for a different way of showing up. For example, some people are dealing with issues at work or perhaps aspire to improve their leadership skills. Others want to improve their health, their relationships, or their own behavior. This whole body approach also helps release patterns of stress, builds your resilience, and increases awareness and contact with the wisdom of your body. In blending with your whole self, we use techniques that include touch, breath, and conversation. You are an active participant in the bodywork, invited to observe what you feel, what you see, and what it means to you. . . . . . . #bodywork #massage #bodyshop #massagetherapy #selfcare #cars #wellness #paint #autobody #fitness #massagetherapist #car #yoga #autobodyrepair #healing #collision #collisionrepair #health #autobodyshop #repair #automotive #love #paintshop #fit #sportsmassage #motivatedpainters #refinish #relax
01.01.2022 Skin-to-skin contact is vital not only for mental and emotional health but physical health, too. When you feel snowed under or pressured, the body releases the stress hormone cortisol. One of the biggest things touch can do is reduce such stress, allowing the immune system to work the way it should. Touch can also calm certain bodily functions such as your heart rate and blood pressure.... It does so by stimulating pressure receptors that transport signals to the vagus nerve. This nerve connects the brain to the rest of the body. It uses the signals to slow the pace of the nervous system. In early life, touch is thought to be crucial for building healthy relationships by stimulating pathways for oxytocin, the natural antidepressant serotonin, and the pleasure neurotransmitter dopamine.
